Looking for a recommendation on a low-mid range gaming laptop

Might be a little over your budget (unless you find it on sale), but there is also the HP DV6-6124ca.

Basically a 15" screen, better cpu and graphics card. Sells for $749 in Canada, but you can probably find it cheaper in the US, or maybe on sale.
 
Yeah, that's out of my price range. I can find something better with the same specs for about $650 in the US.

Can't even find that one for sale anywhere.

Funny, I keep adding it to the cart, it says it's available for pickup at the store, then during checkout it says it's unavailable. Tried all my locations and none of them worked.
 
Yeah, a HD 6720G2 for is a pretty sweet deal for its price. Though the laptop seemed to not be widely available for very long. It might be related to the yield problems at GF.

I've only seen it at bestbuy, have you tried checking out your local stores?
