Well pretty title pretty much sums it up.

I finally got my BF3 upgrades in, and I want to get a new PSU. Ive been out of the loop on the PSU side of things for a while.

System is going to be as follows:
AMD X2 560 unlocked to X4
8GB Gskill Sniper DDR3 1600
Asus M4A89GTD Pro Usb3
XFX HD6850 x2
2 HD's
H50

Dont over clock, and not really worried about doing it.

So I was kinda looking on newegg, and had my eyes set on the corsair CX600, but after reviews it kinda made me a bit weary.

Would a XFX Core edition 550W handle this rig? Trying to spend about $70

Thanks

Ok, good to know,

How are OCZ doing in the PSU market? I see newegg has their Modxstream Pro 600W for $65 after promo & rebates..

Worth it?

damn.. Oh well. I ordered the OCZ before checking back here. But I read a couple reviews, said it was pretty decently built.. Eh Ill see when it gets here tomorrow..

Plus its modular so that was a positive for me, help me clean up some wires..

The key word here is decent, and it's just barely decent, bordering on mediocre.

The XFX is MUCH better built.

Typical of me.. always in a damn hurry..

Oh well, atleast tell me its better than this coolermaster elite 460W Ive been using, right?

Aslong as it lasts till bout December ill be happy. Thanks again fellow [H] members..

The PSU noob ;)

the problem is that the 550Watt one isn't going to have the juice to run your cross fire setup.

you'd want ideally at least a quality 650watt

i think if it was me... I'd round up $20~ish more upfront and get this.. $104.99 but 10% off with promo code and $10 rebate

but this would get it done also (i have version 1 of this in my rig ... and i have a VX550 in my wife's computer) good stuff

10% off 94.99 and $25 rebate card.

if you don't want to go over $70 before rebates or whatever...and i suppose this would probably get the job done..

Antec Higher Current Gamer 620w, seasonic 620w, antec neo eco 620w, corsair tx650. Not sure on the prices of these atm, but they all go onsale for less then $70. Got my antec HCG 620w for $55 after rebate and $70 before

Well im going to just run this OCZ (should be here tomorrow) for a few weeks, then once bills are payed ill check out some of the recommendations.

Thanks.
