Looking for a new budget video card

My demands for video cards specs are not so high.

Until recently I have been using a Zotac GFX650 that served me quite. Unfortunately it died.

Looking for something a little bit better, reliable and not so expensive has been a difficult task. Video cards are now more more expensive than mobos, and I do not wish to enter into that path.

The games I play are no too demanding, and the video board only has to attend some editing demands from Avid Media Composer. But I had been doing my editing with the GFX650 with no problem, so I don't see any reason of investing too much.

I set my budget between $140 to $170. And for that I picked three apparently good choices:

Of the three, the EVGA seems like the best compromise, particularly because there were no negative reviews, as there were on the Zotac, my second choice.

Both being a short profile is something that appeals to me too.

Now please help me read and translate the specs better in practical terms. That is the difficult part for me.

New: RX 570 4gb

Used: RX 580 or GTX 1060

Any of those would keep your editing tasks going for a few years at least.

Editing usually likes VRAM so the more you can afford the better.
 
Sorry, not used for me.

No Radeom boards either. Avid works only with GeForce.

That's why my options were all Nvidia.

Prices on Amazon for the GTX1060 climb too much, compared to Newegg's. I only use Newegg for reviews recommendations.

Keep an eye on the FS/ trade forum here as there are a lot of good RTX 1060/1070 cards for sale from reputable forum members there for good prices.
 
Unfortunately used stuff is not good for me, as I need to ship it to Brazil.

If there are any problems, probably more likely on used things, it would be troublesome and expensive to send it back and then again to Brazil. It would end up very very expensive.

New parts only.
 
Just to know what they important for: what about the cuda cores? They do not help by adding processing capacity on video conversions?

BTW, I just increased my PC memory, going fromn 16Gb to 32GB. But I'm not getting the extra speed I expected, particularly for video conversion.

What do I need to do to implement that memory boost?
 
GTX 1050 is not worth $170 dollars for the performance you get. For that price you're better off going with a GTX 980 its way more powerful than the 1050.

You can find GTX 980's on Ebay for around $100. The performance on those will beet a RX 570 & Match a RX 580.

I have a 1050 ti it's not great for gaming it will do 1080p fine in the games I play. I bought it to replace a failed 760 during the mining boom so everything else was crazy expensive. If I were you I'd wait for Nvidia new budget card 1660/ti which I think will launch this week.
