Looking for a deal around $300 for a laptop that isn't just a large screen netbook. $300 is the budget, but I'm not finding anything at that price.

The Frys laptop is the most attractive, being a 3rd gen intel, optical drive and being a lenovo. But tax sucks.

If anyone knows of any otehr deals LMK!

Also looking in same price range.

Only thing I've found decent were Dell's on delloutlet.com that were refurb and scratch and dent, marked down with the 15% coupon to ~$315.

The server crashed? Because I was there trying to get one, and I kept reloading the page, and it was working, but the wrong laptop was showing up.

I figured they must have sold like one and wasted everyone elses time.

I too am looking for a decent deal on a similar laptop, but I haven't found anything I'm willing to bite on yet. That one from tigerdirect is tempting, but it's not quite cheap enough to resemble a great deal.

Yeah not sure I'm interested in a scratch and dent :/

FWIW I recently bought a Scratch and Dent Laptop from the Dell Outlet Store. It looked just fine. I didn't see any scratches, dents, or any sign of previous use.

For $300 it's tough to find anything nice. There's just some base costs that go into any laptop: Chassis, power supply, display, keyboard, trackpad ect. Then you start looking at the other hardware costs: CPU, mobo, ram, hdd and corners start getting cut to get the machine to market for <$300.

At $400 you have some limited better-than-netbook options.
$500 gets you a decent selection of Ivy bridge i5 machines.
By $600 you can find quad core Ivy i7's.
Everything past $600 you're paying for upgraded chassis/display/GPU/brand name.

Well, that is why we haven't bought anything yet. There hasn't been anything nice for what we'll pay, except for one deal, that never seemed to materialize from dell. I realize it might be hard to do, but I've seen I3 laptops for about the same price as the black friday deals before black friday. It wouldn't be a steal for me to get one, or wait until I need one.

We were just hoping for something that actually was a great deal.

How long did that i5 deal last? It's dead now.

Also that $25 deal seems dead too.

The deals EST? Funny if so, because the 11/26/12 prices on their cyber monday deals are still good.

Well, i ordered a laptop from dell outlet and i have received the dreaded 1 week delay.
I did a quick search and it turned out that dell "delays" are not at all uncommon. In fact, some people have received over 8 1-week delays.
I guess i'll report in if I receive the laptop.
