Long editorials on front page news

I've noticed a few news posts on the main page are pretty much editorials now. Not sure I like these long-winded posts now, but was curious what other [H] readers thought. Personally, I like when the front page news items are short and sweet, and one could hop into the forums for more insight.

They are the posts made by cageymaru.
 
The Apple one was odd, but I haven't had a single issue with any of his other news posts. I like the content he puts up.
 
Is anybody actually being forced to read the posts? :)
 
Zara is far and away the best front page news poster, the rest is pretty bad.

The replies are always brutal.
