Lone Industries L2: Dual slot version of L1 anyone?

Does that fit in this case? I may end up having to get that but man $150 is a hard pill to swallow knowing they might come out with something new since it seems they are slowing down on 750 low profile
 
Not sure if it comes with a low profile bracket. Ya, it is a bit pricy compared to the others. I'd wait or keep looking if you can.
 
I think I'll wait until summer time to see if any new LP gpu come out. This is just a spare rig I'm building anyway.
 
Anyone have any ideas on how to get a Gigabyte LP 750 ti to fit in the L3? They don't include a single slot bracket. I would use a different 750 ti, but the only other one I could find here in the UK was the KFA one, but that's like $200 on amazon.

If anything, some guidance on cutting the bracket would be welcome too. I don't mind potentially destroying the DVI port, since I use HDMI or DP.
 
The Gigabyte ports are different unfortunately. 2x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort.

If someone sent me the Gigabyte bracket I could probably create a low profile replacement. Getting the DVI port off/destroying it is the main problem.
 
International shipping is 40+ bucks :(

At that point I might as well as get the expensive KFA model here.

Maybe I'll just wait until 950 then...
 
Do you already have an L3? If so, I'd avoid the temptation to buy the Gigabyte GV-N75TOC-2GL. Looks like it would be a major headache/hack job. Looks like even the low profile bracket they include has the incorrect mounting like the Galaxy did. At least the Galaxy/KFA you can buy a correct bracket online.

Maybe you could find a cheap GT 730/740 to use use until new models are released?

EDIT: Found this KFA2 GTX 750 Ti in stock in the UK. Not sure how close they are to you though?

Thanks for the efforts though. The link you found would ship to me, but it's still quite expensive for a 750 ti.

So I probably will wait for a new release.

Seems to have great reviews, but I'm not sure if I should wait for the 9xx series half height cards to be announced, if they ever do come around

I have one on order for a fellow employee. The heatsink fins aren't as tall on the MSI, so I'm curious if an 80 mm fan would fit with the shroud and stock fans removed. The MSI GT 730 with one fan also has short heatsink fins.

wow that's silly of them to make an "LP" graphics card with a proprietary bracket that's not only full height but wrong mounting standards for NA and not provide a lowprofile bracket with the card lol
 
I bought a refurbished msi 750 ti on Amazon for 119$. Hopefully it works well cause I really don't want to spend149.99 for a new one

I received that MSI N750TI-2GD5TLP GTX 750 Ti LP card for a fellow employee. Threw it in my L3 to try out. Mounts effortlessly with ample clearance. Boots with my PicoPSU-80 and 60W AC adapter. Wall power meter reads 32W at idle. There's about 20 mm from the bottom of the L3 to the MSI N750TI-2GD5TLP heatsink (excluding the shroud and fans).

Anyway, the card looks nice, but the fans while turning slowly at idle sound like they're slightly rubbing on the heatsink or something.

You used a 60W adapter? Nice! What other parts do you have in there?
 
Only temporarily of course. Just thought I'd see if it at least booted. This is just my old work system swapped into an L3 (Intel i3 3225, Intel (cant remember model) SSD, Gigabyte H77N-WIFI, Noctua NH-9Li).
 
Well, surprisingly even with the CPU maxed out in my rendering software it doesn't crash. At the wall with just the CPU maxed, the wall was measuring 56W. Running my CAD software made it fluctuate at times to 73W at the wall. Hasn't crashed yet, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard with a GPU stress test. I'll try some other tests to see if I can crash it.
 
Would an HDPlex 250 fit at the bottom with the 750 ti from msi? I'm considering returning my HDplex 160 because the 24pin wire is way too short so I'm having the hardest time mounting it since it won't clear my heatsink at the top

What about switching mainboard? I guess the board you currently use has the connector at the top, but quite a lot are available with the 24pin connector on the front, which is ideal for confined spaces like this.

The HDPlex 250 only fits along the front of the case with the 2.5 inch drives removed. I'd also switch motherboards, or look for a longer flexible 24 pin wire harness.

Looks like I have to return the MSI card. One fan is rubbing internally. Fans are part of the plastic shroud assembly, and can't be unscrewed.

I would email HDplex he could possibly send you a longer version of the 24pin...also careful NOT to use 24pin cables that aren't supplied by HDplex two reasons being

1. the HDPlex 24pin cable is wired backwards compare to standard PSU 24pin cables...

2. the HDPlex 24pin cables use thin wires that's only...18awg? i think i forget compare to standard PSU 24pin wires.

Using other 24pin cables could fry your hdplex unit or damage motherboard.
 
Finally put it together and it seems to be running fine. My GPU fan seem to be rubbing too though on startup. However, once it's running it doesn't seem to rub anymore

These are your options as far as I know:

HDPLEX 160W (250W possibly if you don't need 2.5 inch drives)
Pico-Box Z3-ATX-200
Mini-box PicoPSU-80-WI, PicoPSU-120-WI

I'm not sure what end is on that based on the photo. Do you know the specs for the barrel connector? HDPLEX 160W "supports both 7.4x5.0mm w/center PIN and 5.5/2.5mm DC input."
 
The z3-atx-200 DC input jack is female 5.5mm*2.5mm*10mm connector so that won't work...I'll check out the hdplex one, didn't realize they came with support for both connector sizes/types
 
Received a Zotac ZT-70606-10M GTX 750 Ti low profile card today. Compared to the MSI, the fan on the Zotac seems to be spinning faster/louder. Pretty sure the MSI dual fans are slower/quieter (idle) had it not been for the one rubbing fan. The noise from the Zotac fan isn't terrible (idle, smooth sounding), but it's definitely not "silent". Not very noticeable with all the background noise here at work.

There's ~10 mm of clearance (same as the MSI). Had this card been for me, I would pull the heatsink off and have it machined down in height so I could fit an 80 mm fan.

33 mm from the back of the PCB to the top of the shroud.

EDIT: The Zotac ZT-70606-10M fan starts out fast/loud on boot, and then slows down after booting into Windows. Still have to test if it slows down after booting into Linux.

HDPlex 160 comes with two different plugs so you can change it out to fit the plug you need. I have an HDPLEX 160 using a dell 250 brick. Looks exactly like the one in your picture.

The Galax card was the same way but on a quiet desk it was noticeable. I ended up changing the fan but the new one wouldn't start at the default 40% setting so I used Nvidia Inspector to set it at 50% it's super quiet now. Letting it be partially passive actually works too, as running Kombustor would cause it to start pretty quickly and the card power throttles anyway.
 
I've been playing GTA on the MSI in the L3 for about 3 days now. The temperature aren't bad. Running 1920x1080 at high the temp were around 75c but I lowered the resolution to 1360x768 to normal texture and now it runs at 45c at about 60 frames(vsync, without vsync the game gets stuttering when driving fast but with it on it doesn't).

I'm pleased with the MSI though. It's completely silent at idle and only as loud as a Xbox 360 fan while playing games so ita pretty perfect. Definitely a great console replacement case

While the Intel CPU situation may seem more upgradable and thus better, the A10/r5 combo is dual-graphics compatible for DX11, and for DX12 usable iGPUs could benefit more from AMD than Intel as the A10s r5 would be more powerful than any Intel HD solution, and its cores would be more efficiently used than before... So for DX12 a A10 + 750ti AMD upgrade path may perform better than a i5 + 750ti Intel upgrade path, and cost less...

I am currently using a HP 200w laptop power supply with the HDPlex 160.
both HP and dell laptop power bricks will work with the 160.

I'd love a case just like this, but that included front audio/usb, no hdd mount (for those using only m.2/msata), and no top fan mounts. :DI'm looking for something that can house a dual slot, low profile GPU in the smallest case possible. I'm using a dell optiplex 760 sff right now :eek:

edit: nevermind, i see that the L3 has no top fan mounts
