Are you just wanting 5gHz or 802.11ac support?

Unless you have a gigabit gateway, or are doing large massive storage moves...you barely need either one.

5 GHz networks are usually a lot more stable than 2.4Ghz due to interference (11n).

I would recommend you to get Atheros/QCA hardware over Intel any day when it comes to Wireless network cards.
AR9382 or AR9380 comes to mind

already have one of those things...

just having a devil of a time figuring out how i can connect a big 5ghz cisco antenna i got off ebay

I have been using this with good results.

AC streams HD fine, N gets choppy sometimes it seems. I don't have the antennas connected to the card though, I use the provided extension cables and table top /magnetic mount base.
