List all the GPUs you've ever owned

Making this a separate thread as I thought it would be an interesting topic so see what people have had in the last 15 years or so.

GPUs that I have owned in a historical order:

ATI Rage
nVidia MX440
ATI 9000 pro
ATI 9800XT
ATI X800XT PE
nVidia 680 ultra
nVidia 7800GTX
ATI X1900XTX
nVidia 8800 Ultra
nVidia 285 GTX
nVidia 480 GTX
nVidia 580 GTX
nVidia 680 GTX
nVidia 780 GTX
nVidia Titan GTX
nVidia 780 GTX Ti
Radeon 290 Crossfire
Radeon 290X
GTX 980s and GTX 970s

So I have pretty much seen it all. Was a huge ATI fan when I was a soft-more and loved Ruby by the way. Been swaying to nVidia more in the past years but still not hesitant when I see a good price to performance ratio.

You haven't seen it all...

S3 Virge
ATI Rage II
nVidia Riva TNT
3dfx Voodoo
3dfx Voodoo 2
3dfx Voodoo 3
Geforce 2

these accelerators were from the most exciting era of 3d gaming.

Am I the only one on this forum that had a Sierra Screaming 3D card (Rendition V1000)?

Hi, I've been a member here for a while but haven't really posted much. I'm looking to become more active on here so here is my list (in chronological order). I've been flipping computers and parts for a long time so I've had quite a lot of cards.

My first video card ever: ASUS FX5200 128mb AGP
Afterwards:

Sapphire R9 280X 3GB with Kraken G10+Corsair H70 (currently own)
EVGA GTX 680 4GB SLI FTW (currently own)

It's been a great run for me, I've had the opportunity to own and use a ton of different cards and make money in the process. Being a PC hardware enthusiast has been incredibly rewarding for me and I never plan on stopping :D

Cheers

Oh, the memories. My first few cards were all made by Diamond, like the Monster 3D 2, Viper 550 and 770. Apart from those early cards I can't remember which manufacturers I had. To me the late 90s 3D gaming was the most memorable since I was young and had lots of time to game. Now that I'm older I make enough money to afford the latest hardware but don't have nearly enough time to enjoy myself and play on it.

I'm sure I've missed and handful and this doesn't include any of my SFF / HTPC / Gaming laptops / kids machines / Wife's machines. These were only on the primary gaming rig. I have had over 20 machines in my house at any given time but have paired it down to about a dozen for now.

SAPPHIRE ATI HD RADEON 5970
ZOTAC GTX 560
ZOTAC GTX 650
MSI GTX 650 Ti

1998 - 3dfx Banshee, 16MB (great 2d, veeery bad 3d acceleration in complex scenes)
2000 - Geforce 2 - MX 200, 64MB (my first truly 3D card, still bad though)
2002 - Geforce 4 - MX440, 128MB DDR (noow we're getting somewhere, still relatively slow)
2003 - Geforce FX 5700, 256MB (first performance card I ever owned)
2006 - GF 8800 GTX, 768MB (my first high end card)
2007 - GF 8800 GT SLI, 512MB each (sold my 8800 GTX for the same price that I got 2x8800GTs, best deal eva, almost doubling performance overnight)
2009 - GTX 295, 896MB per core (first dual card I ever owned)
2010 - GTX 460 SLI, 1GB each (sold the GTX 295, all to get DX11 support)
2014 - GTX 970 SLI, 4GB (yeah it took me some time but I'm finally here, in the big leagues again, cue to my brand new 1440p monitor which needed feedin')

...damn, only now I realize how much of an nVidia fanboy I have been. While I have use quite many ATI/AMD cards, it was never the ones in my main rig. I even recommended quite many of those, but still it was never I that mainly used them.

2008-2010ish Diamond hd 4350
2011- May 2014 Sapphire HD 5570
2014 May+ Gigabyte gtx 750 ti

My path was (for desktops):
- Diamond Monster 3D (3Dfx Voodoo 1)
- Nvidia Geforce 2 MX
- Nvidia Geforce 4 Ti4200
- Nvidia Geforce FX 5700 (what a shit card)
- Nvidia Geforce 6600GT (AGP)
- Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS (640MB ver)
- Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 core 216
- Nvidia Geforce GTX 580
- Nvidia Geforce GTX 980

I have never owned an ATI card, how sad.... My brother always got ATI cards while I always got Nvidia ones for some reason. I've also never owned top-tier cards until recently, I've always owned mid-tier or lower.

My favorite card was the Ti4200. Ah, the countless hours of CS and BF1942 :)

My first computer that my family bought, we got in October 1996... and it was a Pentium 166Mhz with the Voodoo1 inside, so I never knew what it was like to have a PC with no graphics card in it :(

Radeon 9800 Pro (returned the nvidia 5800 and got this instead, as the 5800 sounded like a leaf blower)

That reminds me of this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOVjZqC1AE4
Even Nvidia themselves thought that card was shit. I still think the FX-series was the most disappointing graphics card series ever.

I own/owned 90% of all highend sku's. Not talking about wanna be highend's like gtx 670's and gtx 260 core 216's which I also have.

Currently over 100. I haven't counted in a while.

I don't upgrade often. A card needs to be pretty groundbreaking and/or have amazing price/performance to get my attention. Also my upgrades are getting less frequent. I got almost four years out of both my 8800 and 460.

Whatever chip was on a OSI Superboard II single board computer
Commodore 64
Monochrome Text Adapter in a IBM PC won at a job fair
Hercules clone
VGA clone
After this, just substitute one of the earlier rather complete lists. It won't be far off and I don't remember all of what I owned after the first VGA clone anyway.
Current main PC card is a GTX460.

Hmmm... I've pretty much stuck to NVidias for as long as I can remember.

3DFX Voodoo 1 (this was back before NVidia was really a player in the market)
NVidia Riva 128
Riva TNT
GeForce 256
GeForce 2
GeForce 3 Ti 200
GeForce 8600 GTS
GeForce GTX 260
GeForce GTX 660 Ti
GeForce GTX 970 (about two weeks ago.)

In the meantime, I did have a laptop with an ATI chipset in it for a while (which I believe was a Radeon X300 mobile.)

Main GPU:

1995-2000 - 486 3D GPU (Don't know which, I was 5)
2000-2004 - Voodoo 3 3000 (First real, high-end GPU)
2004-2005 - Geforce MX 440 (Didn't know anything about hardware at the time)
2005-2008 - Geforce FX 5200 (Couldn't afford anything better)
2008-2011 - Geforce 8800 GTS SLi (Finally was able to afford this)
2011-2013 - Geforce GTX 480 SLi (Were great until they overheated)
2013- Now - Geforce GTX 660 SLi (My babies. Cool, silent, powerful)

Other GPUs:

Geforce 6600 (Bought for secondary rig)
Geforce 8400 GS (Bought for Mom's rig)
Radeon HD 2600 (Bought for Sister's rig)
Geforce 9600 GSO 512 (For F@H)
Geforce 8800 GTS 640 (For F@H)

Geforce 4 MX 420 -> Geforce FX 5200 -> ATI x800 pro -> Nvidia 7200 gs (placeholder for switch to pci e) -> Nvidia 7950 gt -> Nvidia 8800gts 512 -> (period of laptop gaming because of college) -> AMD 7750 -> Nvidia GTX 660 ti -> Nvidia 640gt (short downtime) -> Nvidia GTX 670

next on the list, gtx 960? waiting on the specs to finally come out on that guy.

GT 240 2012
GTX 260 2012
HD 4890 2013
GTX 770 2014
R9 290 2014

These are the GPUs I have used in my main computer, in that order (I only started building my computers and using custom parts in 2012, and was on a low budget at first, which is why I had crap like a GT 240 in 2012).

I also have a GTX 460 I got less then a year ago and have yet to find a use for.

Great to see people have used such a large diversity of cards.

I guess I would classify this thread as a trip down the memory lane!

GeForce 2 MX400
Radeon HD 6770M
nVidia GTX 560ti
nVidia GTX 660ti
nVidia GTX 670
nVidia GTX 670x2
nVidia GTX 780x2
nVidia GTX 780ti
nVidia GTX 980

S3 Virge (graphics decelerator)
Riva 128
Riva TNT ( 3 different versions of these because of the problems... if I remember right)
Voodoo 3 1000 agp (strange version in a Compaq.. not the 3000)
ATI Radeon 32mb (Many problems)
ATI Radeon 8500 (good)
ATI Radeon 9800 (awesome)
ATI Radeon x700 (short lived)
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX (3 years of fantastic performance)
AMD Radeon 4870 (Awesome, though I thought it was the cause of a stutter and I sold it. It was not the problem)
Nvidia Geforce 580 GTX (This is a Galaxy card and has been perfect... but aging)

That is roughly 8 years on those last three cards.

After all of my experience with ATI / AMD cards I really want to stick with Nvidia now. If the next set of AMD cards take a dump on the current Nvidia 970 / 980, I may switch back. I'm not loyal to either, but the drivers have been wonderful for me on these Nvidia cards... no fuss.

I cringe thinking about the rage and confusion I had with my first Radeon 32mb. Counter-Strike and Quake 3 performance problems had me raging while my friends Geforce and Geforce 2 performed beautifully.

The posts I made on here in 2001 were probably terrible. Most of my posts contain alot of rambling .... I'll stop.

Yea you wouldn't think this thread would be that interesting, but I find myself reading each post like it's the next chapter in some nail biting thriller. :)

That's the progression of things. Of course I've had multiple systems with variations on several of these, split and combined SLI setups to and from multiple machines, and had some oddball VGA cards that I can't remember off the top, but these are all of the ones along the way that were memorable in some way.

I think what this really says is that I'm getting old. :D Old, and yet my memory is holding up pretty well...

For my primary rig:

Matrox Mystique 4MB
nVidia RIVA TNT2 Ultra 32MB
ATi Radeon DDR 64MB
nVidia GeForce 4200Ti 128MB
nVidia 7300GT 128MB
nVidia 8800GTS 320MB (should have gotten the 640 version, as I upgraded to a higher rez monitor shortly thereafter)
ATi HD4870 512MB (later added a 4650 to drive a 3rd monitor)
AMD HD6970 2GB

The 4200 was probably my favorite overall.

I've participated in these lists many times so I'll just list the most memorable ones:

Geforce 2 GTS 64mb
Geforce 4ti 4200 128mb
AMD 6950 2gb (current)

Those three cards stayed in my rig the longest. (2+ years)
