Linux Distro Help...

Since I'll be retiring my old computer in the coming months thanks to my building a new rig for Doom 3, I was thinking of taking the plunge and installing Linux on my old box and having some fun with it. I'm completely new to Linux, so what do you think would be best for the box in my sig? I was thinking of Red Hat myself...

Also, if you have any links to free quality Linux distros please post, if it's not too much trouble...

linuxiso.org for all of your iso needs.

I would go with Fedora. It's a good place to learn and it's very Red Hat.

Mandrak and SuSE are probably a good second choice (although SuSE is harder to get your hands on)

If you really want to do some nuts & bolts linux, I would hit up Slackware or Gentoo.
