Lies Of P

I wanted to get into the DLC only briefly, mostly to see what the game looks like on my new laptop but also to see how to access it, spoiler alert, it’s right where we knew it would be..

Couldn’t really play too much as the lady ain’t having it, but it’s been a while anyway, the muscle memory and mechanics aren’t fresh, I also jumped in with my ng+4/5 or whatever it is character so there’s definitely some extra difficulty scaling. The very first largish enemy you see in the first minute absolutely rekt me, took me multiple tries to take out that group. Shortly after got to the stargazer and called it quits.

Will definitely start a new run for this. Honestly can’t wait to get started. This game is such a gem and I can’t wait to see what’s in store from this studio in the future.

Overture is awesome so far but it’s definitely kicking my ass.

Director Ji Won Choi has an important message about Lies of P: Overture…

Yeah I’d say some balance adjustments are necessary. I’m dying WAY more often in the DLC than I ever did in the main game.

Even the first (bear maybe?) enemy with the basket on his head kicked my ass multiple times. Same with the first red kangaroo. Both the transforming mammoth and the gator took me nearly an hour each. All the regular enemies can basically two shot me. Surprisingly the first main boss wasn’t that big of a deal though.

Absolutely loving the environments though, this game is top tier in terms of atmosphere.

^Yeah, I've a some posts on steam saying the difficulty is kinda busted on new game plus modes. I'm currently on ng+ 3, so I'm not sure I want to endure that torture right now. I just played through again last summer and would need to basically do another playthrough just to access the dlc as it's only available at (or after?) chapter 9. I can't remember exactly but isn't there only 12 chapters in the base game?

Yeah you have to just start chapter 10 to access it. After I booted the game back up I saw that I had a NG save file right at the start of chapter 9, so I knocked it out and got right into the DLC.

I can tell you though, it’s still hard as shit, but totally worth it, it’s excellent. Once I complete it with this save I’m going to give it another go with my NG5 character, hopefully there will be some balance adjustments by then.

Finished it tonight, 10/10, so, so damn good. It was frustratingly hard, but that may have added to things, lots of tension. I even found myself switching legion arms, grindstones, and actually using consumables for once. It’s not for the feint of heart but man, the environments, the lore, the art, the whole ass vibe, maybe it just speaks to me, but I have nothing but praise.

My only complaint is that we didn’t get it sooner, felt like I’d moved on by now, and I’m not sure I want to run through ~85% of the game to play the DLC again this each time at this point.

I may have to though, I tried again with my NG5 character that’s nearly maxed out and the most basic enemies can quickly end a 100 vitality health bar.

Just finished the DLC for the third time today. My NG+5 character is now fully maxed out and I only have two weapons left to fully upgrade. Things definitely feel easier after that update, still no cakewalk though.

Just curious, how many hours played do you have in the game now?
