Just received mine today from Newegg. UPS did a number on the box but a cursory examination indicates that there was no damage to the contents. Not that Newegg cared... they just stuck a label to the box and mailed it as-is. They didn't even tape it up - it could be opened without breaking any seals/tape!
i'll have to see if they have these at frys or not
Holy crap I would've refused the shipment. That box is totally fucked.
OOh, looks like it would be really close. The mounting holes are underneath the back of the graphics card, just past the corner of the motherboard. My thought is that Lian Li made it so that a card will fit with it. Perhaps you can ask Performance PCs?
BTW the fan is a great idea. I don't have one and I've been having problems with the mouse disappearing, but only during LAN parties where it gets really hot (like last night, 20 people/gaming rigs packed into a basement). I touched the chipset heatsink and it was burning hot! I need to either rig up something or buy one of those fans.
EDIT: Just had a thought... maybe I can make one out of an aluminum angle bracket? It just has to hold the bottom edge of the fan. I'll try it and take pics. Gotta try out my new drill press anyways.
Great system you have there, Zap! How good is this case for carrying around to LAN's and such? I assume the handle does its job.
As far as the heat issue is concerned, perhaps you should try a down draft CPU cooler like the AXP-140? I would think that it cools the surrounding memory and chipset fairly well. Although, like you said, you could easily just mod something and cool it that way.
