I, for the life of me, cannot figure out how to turn these on. It looks like I have all the plugs plugged into the motherboard from the case.

ASUS armory crate says there is an addressable lighting strip but thats as far as I can get with it. I tried Lconnect from Lian Li and nothing.

Anyone know where the connector is for the lighting strip?

I'm thinking there is something I'm not doing or missed??

Ideas? The lighting is not important but its there so why not turn it on...

thanks

Assuming they're all plugged in, there are a few possibilities:
1) A connector was plugged in the wrong way (this is possible with 4-pin rgb connectors because they aren't keyed)
2) A 4-pin connector was plugged into a 3-pin header (this won't work, and worst case could damage the board or the LEDs and other components)
3) There's an elbow or cable connection somewhere in the case that came loose (no big deal) or is flipped the wrong way.
4) There's a physical switch somewhere in the case, or an option in the bios, which is flipped off (check your case and mb documentation)

If I recall normal 011d has a USB header that plugs into an emply slot on the motherboard, there may be a sata power connector floating around, if so you'll need to plug that in.

If you have an 011d XL, there will be a 3 pin led connector and there is for sure a sata power connector.

One of the buttons on the case will cycle through pre-installed lighting effects, one of those will controled by external software and one is off.

I have all but the SATA power connector plugged in. It's not a type of connector i've seen before and dont see a place on the mobo to plug it in. its long and flat and not sure if there is an adapter for it.. i have looked on the mobo for a place to plug it in and nada... nothing.

This last one is a sata power (black) to molex (natural/white) adapter, but your psu should have sata power connectors like this if it isn't super old.

The connector looks like the male version of the last picture (black part).. might not be used on my motherboard and i dont think it has anything to do with the light strips.

Does the light strip on the case have a cable coming out any place but where the front panel cables come out? i might be missing a cable that i havnt plugged in, hidden somewhere that i havnt plugged in.

That's the male end of the SATA power plug. It goes to your PSU and might power a controller in there. Or, looking at the manual, if it is a thick cable and the connector isn't very wide, then it's the USB-C front panel connector, and you really should have one on your MB.

I shut the computer down and checked all the plugs and moved the one with 3 pins (on the connector with 4 but one blanked out) to another addressable location on the MOBO. I checked settings in bios and played around with the asus app, buttons on the case and no joy on the led lights that are in the case.

My psu doesnt have that odd sata connector plug, on it. I've looked at a few even lian Li and they dont have that connector either. Everything else functions awesome.. i dont need it but again it would be cool to have the light strips on the case working.

sat the heavy case on my glasses and bent them all to heck...

That is a SATA power connector, it must be plugged in as it powers the LEDs.

It is very common. Every PSU made in the last decade (at least) should have at least one cable with a few of them, to include Lian Li PSUs. The LED control does not plug directly into the PSU but into the correct cable. If your PSU is modular there is one in the cable bag.

Bottom of the page shows the right connector. 'SATA connector x2'.

A similar cable will be on or included with every psu.

Page 4 of the manual for the o11d rgb has this at the bottom:

The "-> Connecting to PSU" is referring to that sata power cable.

The ASUS TUF Gaming 750 Watt psu you have does have sata power cables, but because it's modular they might not be connected. You'll have to look in the extra cables, or if someone built it for you, you may have to ask them for the extra cables.

Solved.

I was looking at Microcenter for an few things and saw an adapter from 4pin to sata... then it dawned on me. I came home and looked and don't know why i didnt see it before but yea... its an sata cable like what goes on the hard drives. I never put 2 and 2 together but finally it clicked.

Both light strips on the case are working now.

might be old age creaping in.. haha
