Anyone else looking at these 2 options as possibility in late 2014 purchase (ie from now on):

1x LG 34inch Ultrawide (non curved) 21:9

or

2x Dell U2415s (possibly with the dell mount)

Negative is there will be a bezel in the middle of the 2 dells.

Price will be about the same but as I have used a dell 2407 for years now and would like an upgrade whilst not getting something much bigger vertical wise, I would perhaps lean towards the Dells given the LGs are a bit hit and miss with some of the artefacts.

Any other views, pros/cons, general thoughts?

I'd get the LG from Costco and be done with it. Monitors from Costco are under the lifetime return policy.

I have the lg waiting for Me on my doorstep at home now. I hate bezels. It interrupts my movies, my games, my Lightroom work. Only thing is I wish it were 38" or something like that. But then it wouldn't be 1k. :(

I am biased, but get the LG (or the equivalent other brand when they release).

I've gone from a LLL setup (three 23 inch monitors, used for about a year) to a PLP setup (20-30-20, all Dell models, used for three years) to a 34UM95 (returned due to backlight bleed) to a ROG Swift (returned, but awesome monitor, wasn't working with my SLI + PhysX at the time and had other defects) to a 34UM94 (once Massdrop actually got it to me, but it's a keeper).

From that experience, I have to say having a single monitor is far more convenient and enjoyable. The LG gives you a large deal of workspace, has awesome connectivity options which I use with my laptop all the time, and is pretty enjoyable to game on.

I really like how I can use my i1 Display Pro to calibrate the monitor effortlessly (if not 100% perfectly, but I'm not a graphics artist or photographer).

If you really want two monitors, you could always add a 27" later on a dual monitor mount :p. The resolutions on a 2560 x 1440 would match up nicely...

The LG down to about 730 Euros in Europe (can get tax free too) so leaning that way.

Wondering what a PS4 would look like on it if I go that way next year, I imagine the picture will be in the middle with black borders.

I'm with you on the bezels, having none would make a huge difference. Ordering from a country adjacent though, if I get a bad one, it's hassle..
