this is for my cousin. for what he needs it for $500 should be fine. He doesnt know anything about laptops at all. He can use one, but hes never owned any computer before. So im predicting like 50 start up programs 
. Lots of ram would be nice obviously. Main thing hes using it for is webcam chatting/internet browsing/music/movies, nothing demanding.

i never owned a gateway before but never thought much of them. the specs look good, im just wondering if theres something im not seeing, because everyone knows that with computer specs theres a lot more than wats advertised.
this is low budget but i definitely dont want something "cheap" that will break on him. Im just asking if anyone knows of any other good deals around this price range or how gateway ranks.
