Lenovo 28" 4k monitor for $799 coming in April

DisplayPort... does that mean we'll finally have 60Hz at 4k at a reasonable price?

If so, my U2713H... I barely knew you (after the RMAs until I finally got a good one).

Aww-yeah.gif

It seems that this is a TN, many manufacturers use it.
3 840 x 2 160
TN W-LED
10bit.

Part of TN problems were caused by 6 bit color tables so this should at least remove gradients banding.

Considering it's still fastest panel technology it might be quite good screen for gaming.

If the panel can keep up with 60 hz, then what's the point? Panel refresh should only matter if it's too slow right?

oh, so it seems all 28" 4K monitors Dell P2815Q included will be TN?

that would explain why it is priced lower than 24" model

Yes I think there are only 5 panels with that resolution in production right now
32" IGZO
28" TN
24" IPS ?
34" 21:9 ratio panel from LG (so IPS ? )
39" VA
that are in any annouced computer display

Really?
I count totally 46 different 3840x2160 panels in production, including two AOU 27-inchers (AHVA-panel), two AOU 32 inchers (AHVA-panels) and a Chimei Innolux 27,8-inch IPS-panel.

This year - it will be monitor galore... just need to wait.

This. The LG True 4K monitors are coming also.
Also, not buying 4K until Nv and AMD releases new cards, the current cards still aren't fast enough.

Big upgrades coming this fall. All-around system rebuild.

this can't be TN panel, maybe an IGZO or IPS, better be IPS. i'm really curious about VA 4k panel, though...

So this should be <$700 on sale. Perfect.

Hopefully there will be bigger 4k displays in the $1k range though.

Hopefully this monitor does 4K @ 60Hz. I was excited for the $700 28-inch Dell 4K monitor until Forbes revealed that it would be capped at 30Hz for 4K.

4k@60hz is definitely needed if we're using it for display, 30Hz is not enough and the flickering is annyoying, but the price is really nice, would be better it will do 4k 60Hz.
