For multi screen setups what would you guys recommend as the best LCD's with the smallest bezel size.

There is only one that really stands out in terms of bezel size the Samsung MD230 that isn't out yet. But that is really expensive and will only be sold in sets of 3 or 6 with a stand.

Actually there are 3 different Mfg. part numbers:

MD230X6 --> 6 monitor setup
MD230X3 --> 3 monitor setup
MD230 --> single monitor

So you can buy them 1 at a time and setup a 5x1 portrait system with an Ergotech stand (for example). Got my info from here: ... they also have pricing (prices aren't pretty).

We were eagerly awaiting the Samsung thin bezel screens... until everyone saw pictures at CES and they were not particularly thin in the bezel area, they were exorbitantly priced, and they did not come in 5x1 configuration.

Buy these Dell LCDs (w/ 20%Dell SB coupon), the EA231WMi, or the HP ZR24/ZR22 and strip them yourself.

edit: Sorry for the forum necromancy, didn't notice date.

Couple of potential downsides:

- Every monitor strips differently, it may not turn out as expected.

- Warranties may be voided. Not a big deal on older monitors, but some of these newer ones have the potential for issues, and it helps to have the warranty remain intact.

Edit: out of curiosity, have you heard of anyone successfully stripping down any of those 4 monitors you posted? I wouldn't mind checking out some pics, lets see if google turns something up.
