For some reason I thought they were already doing this, but I guess not. Maybe I'm thinking about state laws or something but I could have sworn this had been done before.

The "Intimate Privacy Protection Act" is an effort several years in the making to combat the rise in recent years of “revenge porn,” images that are shared on the internet in order to extort or humiliate someone. The practice disproportionately affects women. “These acts of bullying have ruined careers, families, and even led to suicide,” Representative Jackie Speier, a California Democrat and lead author of the bill, said in a statement.

Suicide? Lol. If you're that weak of mind, then the world and gene pool are better off without you.
The only thing I think needs to be legislated is that one cant be fired for nudie pix or videos of beast with two backs. Of course if you are wearing company branded attire, well then you're shit out of luck.

I wonder if they'll apply the punishments to women executing "revenge" against other women equally?

There's a ton of nude, semi-nude, and women performing sex acts on their beaus, from soon to be jilted girlfriends/wives.

That's because no one wants to look at naked guys. I mean, other than the obvious gay population. And even then, most men are simply repulsive looking naked, while most young women are at least somewhat nice to look at.

Something none of you guys need to worry about, am I right!!??

Partially, but most "revenge porn" pics have been due to self taken images, therre are cases of men getting in trouble for it (Brett Farve, Anthony Wiener) but men in general are not as big of attention whores as women, or they have more common sense than to take a picture of their junk

Virgin pretend bill. This isn't about modesty. Kind of wrecks making a play for a guy who wants the road less travelled if you're blow jobs are on the internet. It's about ducking accountability for your life choices.

Reminder: anything you type, photograph or video record may be used against you in a court of law or on the internet.

I'm torn on this.

On one hand I think people who post revenge porn are quite frankly douchebags. On the other I'm utterly opposed to nanny laws that ignore or take away personal responsibility. So while I do think those that post this shit should be taken behind the "woodshed" and beaten severely, I also think that if your tits or dick end up on the internet you are the only person to blame.

I mean, I figure the blame falls on the person who put them there. Not sure how to see it any other way. Now, is it a good idea to take pictures and videos you wouldn't want anyone else to see and share them with whoever you happen to be having sex with at the time? Probably not, in the same way that it's not a good idea to leave your car unlocked overnight. But if you DO leave your car unlocked overnight, the person who stole it shouldn't just get to keep it because "Hey, it's your fault for leaving it unlocked, idiot." Even if you are an idiot for leaving your car unlocked, stealing it should still be a crime.

I wouldn't compare stealing to showing your dick online ever. Again I'm not advocating that the person posting should get away free. I'm just not certain I agree that this needs to be criminal instead of civil.

That's a fair point.

Oh come on, plenty of men are huge attention whores, remember Pres. Lyndon Johnson used to like to whip out HIS johnson to show it off to his staff, so today, he'd probably even have a presidential dic pic gallery of what he liked to refer to as 'Jumbo'. The girls at work sit around talking about the ridiculous messages and pics guys have sent them, and have shown us numerous ugly dic pics that I can't believe anyone would ever send. Nah, unlike ex girlfriend and 'what boys want' pic sites, where guys go (yeah, me too) to look at naked chicks, I don't think there are that many ex boyfriend sites where women go to look at mediocre looking guys or dic picks (where as, I think most of us get at least a little pleasure from seeing pics of naked girls that fall into the category of 'I wouldn't kick her out of bed'). Well, maybe adolescent girls who want to get their first gander at what an assortment of male genitalia really looks like, but after the first few saggy bags & anteaters, that browser window will probably be closed.
