Laptop or Notebook, $600 range

Ideally I would purchase the Dell XPS 13 (2015) if I had the budget to do so, but my budget is ~ $600 (slightly flexible).

I desire something lightweight, portable, reasonably good battery life, good keyboard and reasonable performance. Windows preferable.

I do not need a touchscreen, DVD drive, large HD, webcam…

I won’t be gaming. It’s mostly for using a web based electronic medical record, Evernote, MS Office and internet stuff.

Appreciate any recommendations or direction you can point me in.
