laptop decision

I'm looking to spend no more than $500 on a ultra portable more realistically about $400, i would love a tablet but i dont think i'll find anything to my needs really but my requirements are at least:

-12.1" or smaller screen
-dual core system no preference of amd/intel
-1gb ram
-80gb hdd
-wifi
-capable of running XP, prefer XP to be preloaded
-not bulky (thick)

it will mainly be used for emails/chat/web surfing so i can care less about graphics, almost always will be plugged in so battery life is not a huge concern as long as it can run like an hour on battery it's fine, anyone got some good suggestions? i would love to have a tablet again for touch screen purposes but don't think i'll find one at this price range

With those specs, unlikely.

You could buy an older X41t potentially.

Hell, I'd sell you my EEE 701 w/ touch screen for $400. It wouldn't have dual core, or 80gb though.

nah the eee pc is great for what i need but i think i want a bit more versatility for the price unless i was going to find a eee pc for like 200-250 i wouldn't want one
