If you were to think we're asleep at the wheel, you would be wrong! We've been out telling everyone about our coming LAN, and there's lots of cool stuff coming that you haven't even seen yet!

Today we bring you the first poll for the mini-tournaments, the CS:GO team building thread, the first flash game challenge, and the start of our prepay raffles.

Today we announce the first flash game challenge!
This flash game challenge features the game "Red". All you have to do is have the highest score submitted by midnight Friday March 18th (first day of the LAN) and be present at the LAN, then you win a prize!
To submit high scores, just take a screenshot of your game with the score (please crop your pictures) and post them as a response to the game thread.

Also, the first 50 people that prepay will be entered into an exclusive raffle!
The developers that make the game SinaRun ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/324470/ ) are helping us out here with some keys for SinaRun! 3 game keys are added to this exclusive raffle. The only way to enter is to be one of the first 50 to prepay!

LANified! and Extra Life Calgary are teaming up to bring awareness to sick kids that really need help! Extra Life Calgary will be running a 48-hour gaming marathon at our coming event, LANified! 25: Colossal. They'll have a nice and comfy space to play all sorts of games at, which they'll be doing for a COLOSSAL 48 hours NON-STOP! Being a sick kid sucks, and we want to do what we can to help the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals help all the sick kids. So come hang out and game with them at the LAN! That's not all folks! In addition to bring attention to a serious cause, we're also helping out our fellow Dotes players. We're now opening a DotA 2 team forming/finding thread, and expanding the LANified! Bootcamp Program to include DotA 2! (effective immediately)

LANified! Bootcamp Program - Phase 2

In Phase 2 we are expanding the services, and reeling back on others:
  • We are halting broadcasting for the time being, this is likely to return later.
  • The program now includes DotA 2, there are appropriate channels on our Mumble server now for DotA 2 players, generally this will follow similar methods as the CS:GO stuff
  • We are adding another Tournament Administrator "Power-Fusion" to the services, in addition to Ishamael and Xiphos

LANified! 25: Colossal is being rescheduled to November 25-27 2016

If you prepaid, you should see an email from us sent to the mailbox tied to your account on our website. If you do not see the email, please email us at bloodyiron _/at/ lanified \dot)_ com.

So what is changing?
  • dates of event
  • dates of when earlybird/late prepay ends
We want to continue with the event as designed, so we are not planning to make other major changes.


So why did this happen?
Based on how many prepays we have seen in the last few weeks, we do not believe enough people will prepay in time, for the March dates, for us to be able to cover the costs of operations. As such we see the reschedule as absolutely necessary.


So what can I do about this?
Despite us having to reschedule, we have seen a massive growth in interest in this event design. But, we still need your help.
  • Tell other people about the event
  • Convince people interested to prepay
  • DO NOT WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE TO PREPAY. If you're wanting to come, THEN PREPAY, please! You prepaying means others will want to prepay too. We want to fill the house, and everyone waiting till the last minute to prepay works against this goal.

Our greatest event yet, LANified! 25: Colossal, is still chugging along. We already have over 100 people signed up, and it's just four months away!

As of this writing here are the top 5 games people want to play, based on their sign-up info:
  • Counter-Strike : 77 people
  • Rocket League : 24 people
  • Hearthstone : 19 people
  • League of Legends : 16 people
  • Starcraft : 15 people

We want to see more DotA 2 players, as we've had a lot attend in the past! So where are you all hiding at?

Some convincing gamers have made some rather convincing arguments regarding some of the elements of our coming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Grand Title Tournament at LANified! 25: Colossal.

As such, we have reviewed these concerns, and the following changes have been made:

  1. Stage 3 - Tier 1, aka "Finals", WAS Double-Elimination bo1. IS NOW Single-Elimination bo3.
  2. Stage 3 - Tier 1, aka "Finals", WAS top 4 or top 8 teams entering (depending on # of teams). IS NOW only top 4 teams entering (from Stage 2 Tier 1).
  3. Swiss & Round Robin stages, WAS starting sides determined by knives. IS NOW starting sides randomly assigned by LANified! Tournament Administration.
  4. Single Elimination stages, WAS map picked through knives. IS NOW map selection is performed at the Tournament Administration area, teams have 2 vetoes, then teams agree to maps, failing that map assigned by LANified! Tournament Administration.
  5. Single Elimination stages, WAS sides picked through knives. IS NOW starting sides randomly assigned by LANified! Tournament Administration.

We have also had concerns raised about our map selection, namely inferno. We will revisit the map list closer to the event, as plenty can change between now and then, including hopefully a revised Inferno.

LANified! 25: Colossal already has 112 people signed up as of this writing, 79 of them wanting to play CS:GO. If you want to participate in Western Canada's best gaming tournaments, be sure to prepay and secure your seat today.
