knowledge base/knowledge sharing system?

I have a few staff members here who like to print out everything to document errors and how to's. This waste paper, space and hard to search and share knowledge.

I was thinking of some sort of knowledge base or knowledge sharing system. Spent a few hours searching sourceforge and cant seem to find anything good.

My main concern is the ease of adding screen shots to descriptions.(picky users :( )

The best idea ive read so far is installing a intranet wiki. The image upload appears to be friendly.

Any ideas or directions would be helpfull :cool:

I plan on dropping whatever system on a spare PC (intranet)
 
I've been working with a CMS suite called Joomla, it seems to work very well for this type of work. We are currently are using it at the office I work at to document all of our Internal networking practices and are going to be using it as a corporate portal for the company to use.

That looks awesome and its free! Unfortunately we just spent half a mil on somethign similar but go live date is a year from now..

Looks like I will go the Wiki route. Argg so many to choose from..leaning towards moin..
