I'm sure it's been said before but these are a steal at this price. It seems like they go on sale like this every year. There is a reason these have been pretty much unchanged since 2002.

They actually did a refresh back in 2011 that might have cheapened the amp in these a bit (and arguably made them more reliable): https://hardforum.com/threads/klips...ts-older-heavier-new-lighter-sub-amp.1605026/ It's still a damn good set of speakers at 100 bucks or so.

These were on sale for $99 through Best Buy about two weeks ago when I purchased a set. I'll be picking them up tonight.

I used to have a 4.1 set and those things were simply amazing. If you need a good 2.1 setup you can't go wrong.

I had 2 sets of the Ultra 5.1's back in the day. Were awesome! Wish I never got rid of them. Anyway, running a set of 2.1's on a secondary PC and couldn't be happier.

They also fixed the problem it's the imbelical jack ripping off the main board.

With this price, there is no excuse for people to be using some of the awful options offered in the big box stores. Walmart seems to think that Altec-Lansing and Logitech are the only types of PC speakers.........

The old amps were prone to fail though.
