My beloved Klipsch finally bit the dust. Looking to replace/upgrade.

Setup: PC audio out from my Maximus IX Hero motherboard. Room is small (8' X 10'). Not looking to shake the neighborhood, just my desk. But I think I'd like something small to actually fit on the desk.

Uses: Primarily gaming and music. Occasional movie/tv show.

Prefer speakers to headphones so looking at these"

Would be great if you could audition those. A local musical instrument store would be good for this.

I have the JBL's and love them for near-field listening. One thing with them though is the rear port makes it better to keep them a little ways from the wall in the rear.

I also came from Klipsch....................the JBL's were a definite upgrade.

I'm using an internal sound card so can't comment on a dac..............................but I'm lookin :)

I'm not too familiar with near-field active speakers but I approve the schiit stack you selected.
You may want to look into getting an amplifier and use the magni 3 as a preamp along with some passive speakers.
I think you'd have more/better choices that way. You can often find great deal on used amp/speaker.
