Eh, I hope it does well. I'll pick it up at some point but yeah, price is a little high. That being said it is available at 37 from cdkeys. Many people hate the site, but on the other hand it does allow for sales instead of people resorting to piracy. For a small game with limited advertising budget word of mouth is going to be key for them, and the more people playing the game at launch the better (assuming it is good).

the realism aspect is where this game is getting all or most of its buzz and I don't really see that as being a big selling point for me at all...realism matters more when it comes to a war type of game like Battlefield or Call of Duty but for this game it might be a detriment...even though it's different, combat reminds me of For Honor, maybe it's the animation...I haven't heard anyone comparing this to Witcher 3 so hopefully people are not that crazy...the more information (and gameplay videos) that come out about this game the less interested I become

I do like that they are aiming for a hard core rpg where actions/decisions have real world consequences...that alone has me optimistic that they might be able to deliver something unique and special...but I'm in wait and see mode

one of the cool things is that the game has a historical context. events will continue regardless of if you choose to participate or not. It is immersion breaking to have an npc waiting to talk to you at one spot for days of gametime. that won't happen here. they will do the mission themselves. that can make for some interesting interactions.

While a little silly, I do think that it's a decent way to have quicksave still but not let it be abused in excess. I'd much prefer this to autosave, that's for sure!

yeah, don't like how the saves are setup right now, either resting or drinking schnapps......

I guess if there is a large availablility of schnapps and it doesn't cost much, I won't mind
    this way of saving .

So, any other way of saving, anyone know ???

    the game looks good otherwise.......

The combat is really the only area of concern I have. I like everything else I see. I'm starting to move towards positive territory on this.

where's the original poster?... someone should advise him to change the title of the thread to Kingdom Come: Deliverance

EDIT: how do I highlight a user name...I thought it was @MorgothPI ...but it doesn't seem to be working

Hahaha that combat looks absolutely terrible (and I played hundreds of hours of mount and blade). It looks over complicated and janky, I understand the motivation for trying to create a historically-grounded style, but this is just bad.

I think I’m going to pass on this game, which is a shame because I enjoy medieval/historical games.

This is going to sound lame but I'm looking at this and I'm wondering: Is this the kind of game where I can make tactical use of a trainer to soften a few of the edges and get what I want out of it? It's possible.

That last video I posted shows me the most promise yet. It took me from "no way" to softly inching into positive territory. I see something I can potentially work with and especially if I can do stealth, pickpocketing, and thief like related shenanigans.

I agree that the combat is janky as all hell but then again I'm the same guy that bought Elex for $33 (thanks GMG) and got what I wanted out of that, too. Piranha Bytes veterans and such know how to handle these kinds of problems. ;)

$60 MSRP is still a tough call here, though. We'll see how this unfolds in the next few weeks.

this game is striving for realism but it also needs to be fun...realism above all else would bog the game down in details that only hard core medieval buffs will appreciate

Agreed. That's my biggest concern far and away boiled down: Is this game going to actually be fun? Tough to tell.

Long/short: This gent gave me some more hope potentially for this. He says that you can theoretically avoid combat for the most part if you want to and be a sneaky, stealthy, silk tongued sneak thief more or less like I want to play it and that there are only two critical storyline items where combat is mandatory.

Guy is a big time idiot if he compares the combat of the game to Dark Souls. I know he said it's not the same but people expect to one hit everything in games today. If the game has DLC down the road I bet people will be blown away by the changes. I'm so sick of first person shooters I'll give anything a chance.

The combat is where a lot of concern is for a lot of people including myself.

I like it from a Mount & Blade perspective but I also would prefer if something like this was online. I'm not sure the combat in an SP setting would keep me coming back for more - but hopefully the rest of the game has so much appeal that does it.

    Wisely expanded to GOG. :)

Now if they would drop the price to $44.99 MSRP or some such I think they would do themselves some favors in the long run since buying this game from complete unknowns is a gamble.

I want this to succeed. :)

I think this is Warhorse Studios first game so I want them to succeed...I just want the world and gameplay to be fun, complex and engaging...the realism aspect is fine but not at the expense of everything else

Looks like a game in which you can just start and get immersed. Honestly I like that sometimes. I have trouble often with choice paralysis when you have to make too many unalterable decisions at character creation. Pillars of Eternity comes to mind.

I also hope they lower the price a mite. Though I can always wait for a sale since my puter sucks, lol

Either way looking forward to it. Honestly I don't mind the look of the combat, something new is always fun to figure out. However I still think the collision sounds need a lot of work.. it's the only thing that stands out to me about the combat.. makes it feel a bit off

I definitely see some remarks in this that would go to my concerns about this game and especially what my own personal rule of thumb has been which is "realism = not fun." I have yet to run into an exception of this for myself personally.

Still hoping for the best. Not optimistic.

I think they should delay this game and drop the price.

I just hope the combat isn't too hard i know you can adjust difficulty you can get better gear if you can't beat someone from the first encounter.

I saw a discussion with some of the devs on the Steam forums... believe it or not...and supposedly no new builds of this game have been seen or touched by anyone since August. They went dark after that.

Assuming that's accurate then I'm wondering what even the most current previews like what I just posted and youtube videos are referencing?

This is why I haven't completely thrown in the towel yet. ;)

Kikstarter games are usually good because it forces the developer try a little harder by reaching out to the fans.
Camelot Unchained I'll be 5 years away from 50 when that game comes out I was 26 when Dark Age of Camelot came out. I'm sure all the good games will come out when I'm 70 that is the problem if I'm still alive.

Top Down games get my attention first
3rd person games get more attention then 1st person
First Person shooters only if it's a AAA game.

    Sorry off tangent and tired...

I'm not all that excited for this anymore but maybe that's a good thing...if it turns out to be epic and an amazing game it will be an easy buy and one that no one expected to be good...sort of like Doom (2016)
