I have become very interested in getting a keyboard and mouse in one, but one that doesn't use a trackpad. I am sure some of you remember the red dot that used to be common on some laptops. I also prefer not to have the number pad.

I would keep the keyboard on my lap, while doing work at my desk. I think that this can be a comfortable setup for some portion of the day.

Does anyone know where I can buy such a keyboard?

The ideal might be an IBM Model M13, which is a full-size Model M with integrated TrackPoint mouse.

Your wallet's gonna hate you for it, though, because like the tenkeyless Space Saver variants, they tend to sell for ridiculous amounts on eBay and the like due to their relative obscurity.
Wow, I never knew it was as bad as the ssk. I actually have one leftover from a decommissioned server from back in the day--always loved it.

I don't know what you think about a trackball or tkl boards, but I have this cherry ml based board too and it's been great to use:

I paid nowhere near that though...where did I recently see it much less than that...ah yes, the cdw outlet:

My recommendation would be a lapdog with a corsair keyboard and any mouse you want. Perfect for what you are wanting
