Keep a copy of a file directory without the files?

Hey folks
I trade files with a few friends, but need an easy way of remembering what files. ATM I have a folder with all of the files I sent. But it is a bit of a back and forth thing, so i don't really want to have a giant folder of media just to remember what I have sent.
Make sense I hope?
Anything that would allow me to take a snapshot of a directory, maybe including folders, that I could browse through. Sort of like an actual directory but having only file names not the data.

"tree" might work best for this

Graphically displays the folder structure of a drive or path.

TREE [drive:][path] [/F] [/A]

/F Display the names of the files in each folder.
/A Use ASCII instead of extended characters.
