Got 8*8G modules to replace 4G modules. ECC UDIMM is still too expensive, went wit non-ECC ones since it's just my lab.

Board:
ASUS P8B WS
RAM: CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10

question are you able to use it all?

i have an ESXI box that had 2G of ram and i upped it to 4G but when i go to allocate resources, the most i can do is 2092 .

vSphere client shows the system has 4G, ESXi boot screen shows 4G...

Any thoughts why i can only use 2G of ram out of 4G, all this ESXi is new to me and not finding much on reading, sure i am missing something blatantly obvious...

Under Resource Allocation on the vSphere Client connected to my ESXi box it only shows

Total capacity 2087
Reserved Capacity 77MB
Availible Capacity 2010MB

Under the Configuration tab on it it shows

Total 4086.1MB
System 17.1MB
Virtual Machines 4096.0 MB

I have 1 VM running and have the memory set to 1024MB

so not sure how i can get the rest of the ram to show, i have this same issue with an ESXI box i was putting together with 16G of ram but it is only letting me use about 12G of it, that is with no VM's installed on it after a fresh install, one part shows all the ram but i cant actually seem to use it?
