If you can get it to 5Ghz, then it will destroy even an FX-57 in gaming. You should do it and then go start a thread in the AMD subforum bragging that your "measly pentium" will dethrone an FX-57.

Ok, just configured a system for a friend:

ASUS P5GD2-X Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 915P ATX $106.00
MSI Geforce 6200TC PCIe x16 Video Card --------------- $58.00
Pentium 4 530J Prescott 800MHz FSB LGA 775 ------ $173.99
PNY Optima 512MB (2 x 256MB) DDR2 533 -------------- $47.91
WD Caviar SE 80GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 --------- $54.00
56Kbps Internal Fax Modem(NetoDragon) ------------------- $6.30 (56gay)
LITE-ON Black IDE DVD Burner Model SOHW-1693S - $48.00
Microsoft Windows XP HOME Edition w SP2 OEM ---- $88.95
Thermaltake Soprano Black Case 430W PSU ------------ $85.00
shipping ------------------------------------------------------------------ $34.78
TOTAL = $706.68

Ok so I built this rig with my friend Tuesday afternoon/night. Installed all the software and OC'd it. At 3.3Ghz, default voltage, it was hitting 68C (with Prime95), so I backed it down to 3.2 and it was at about 64C loaded. I was a little disappointed with the OC, and was thinking about dropping the multi to get a higher FSB OC. But we were kinda in a rush.

Anyway, I was thinking about it today. I should have replaced the crappy little TIM that came with the stock HSF with some good thermal paste which I had at my office (not home). Anyway, I'm going to stop by his house one day this week and try reseating the HSF with some nice thermal paste and check for a better OC.

P.S. Its an E0 stepping. I'm sure its got a lot more headroom in it and it just needs better cooling.

I switched from A64 to Intel recently. LOL.
A64 had issues with physical memory controller where it would reboot every hr and i would get the BSOD with a memory controller error. GAVE UP on A64.
Now running INTEL and SMOOTH AND STABLE~!!!!

post your rig Burner27.

Show me your $$ rig.

Fine, here it is.....this is an older picture that doesn't have some of the upgrades in my sig. The board in the picture is an Asus P5AD2E-Premium Wifi/Ed, Audigy 2 ZS, stock HSF is being used and there is only 1GB of ram. My sig has my current setup and I am using an XP90c/Panaflo combo on my CPU.

Mine is in my sig. Been using Intel rigs ever since I got into computers. Finally taking the plunge to AMD though, Intel just isn't appealing to me anymore...*sigh*.

i have an old dell optiplex gx1 i use as a linux box.

450mhz of p3 powa; 10gb hd; onboard everything.

thing as served me well:)q

Here's my current workstation. I got rid of my dual box to get rid of excess noise and heat. With this new box, I was going for quiet and I've achieved it. The cabling needs work, but I'm content with it for now. The vid card and CPU are watercooled, so the only fans in the box are a 120MM Vantec stealth on the radiator, two 80mm Vantec fans cooling the HDDs and the PSU fan. The Intel board has great fan control, so they're all nearly inaudible. My HDDs drown them out.
