I sort of joined the dark side... I just build my first Intel setup, but its not for me. A bit over a month from now a lucky [H]er is gunna win it (see dist. computing forum). Either way, I am actually pretty happy with the setup, this is a great chip I got...

Pentium 4 2.4C Rev. M0
Gigabyte 8IK1100 875P
2x256MB No name DDR400
3GB HD
Old CD Rom
430W PSU
Tident PCI Vid

If its not obvios, based on the crap specs aside from CPU and MB, this thing is build to fold, and it should do that quite well. I knew the 2.4C was a good clocked, and I also knew M0's got the best clocks. So, ive been pushing it hard, and I am happy with my results. With 1.55v, I am at 3.31Ghz. Stock cooling to boot. Stable for hours running two intsances of P95. I never expected a 900mhz OC on stock cooling.

Im posting on my intel rig right now. Its a P133 Packard bell, that I overclocked to 166Mhz D1000. Im on 640x480, 60Hz, on a small IMB PS2 monitor I found laying in some guys back yard.

And, like anyones actually going to read 7 pages of this thread before posting...

Ok. So, my names bob on the [H], or Kyle in the real world. Im selling my PC (1.8Ghz winchester). Im looking to spend $900.00 plus whatever I get out of this box, on a shuttle. I orignally wanted to get an SN25p.

I play computer games, run my box as a game server at lan parties, do video editing and some audio work, and then browsing the hardforum. Someone passionate about Intels care to tell me if I should go with an intel rather than an athlon 3800+ Venice or something? I really dont know much about the new intels, except that they seem expensive.

Rather than crapping up this whole thread, whoever is bored enough can PM me.

here's my recently upgraded rig. It previously had an Athlon XP 2000, nForce2 mobo, 512MB of DDR266 ram, and a single 80GB hard drive.

My Intel Rig will be built soon with the following:

Thermaltake Tsunami Case (Black)
Antec SmartPower 500w PSU
1gb Kingston PC3200 Memory
ABit AG8-V
Pentium 4 820
Leadtek Winfast 7800GTX
250gb SATA drive from Maxtor
Pioneer Dual-Layer DVD burner

Hmmm... just noticed this thread... :p

I've had an Intel rig for the past 2+ years and have been very happy with both rigs I had. Current rig is in my sig. Before that I had a P4 2.8B, with 512MB Corsair XMS and an Abit BH7 i845PE mobo. The CPU overclocked to 3.2Ghz and the system ran very nice. Wanted to take advantage of the dual channel memory architecture and extra speed from the i875 chipset, so about a year after I got the BH7 system, I upgraded to my current parts... ;)
