I don't know why Amazon doesn't just develop it's own fleet of delivery vehicles.
Not to mention they could start a delivery business.
With their customer service, it would be lights out for UPS, etc.
 
They stated that the drone can transport 5lbs and the majority of orders of 5lbs or less.

I can see if the drones preform well enough and the savings will be huge compared to delivering via diesel trucks with drivers.
I don't see a problem with the tech to make this work. What I do see is problems with people stealing the merchandise. The altitude these of the drones can't be that high. All someone has to do is follow the drone, nab the merchandise.
I think if you "sign up" to receive drone deliveries there will have to be some kind of lockbox they drop the merchandise in.
If that is the case how far fetched is it that this will also encompass a solar powered charging station for the drone for the long trip back.
Interesting ideas.............
 
Fuck flying drones. I want those tubes from futurama that can zip me to work.
