Didn't watch that video. Hope it is not to soapboxy.

Just wondering, but who gets his fortune if he dies?

He has four kids. Now that he is divorced, they are probably next of kin.

That said, he probably has a will that details where he wants his wealth to go if he were to die.

Here's to hoping they square the escape velocity and sq. root the fuel needed for return calculation.

My comparison (and really I see him as modern-day Howard Hughes, but since the comic book comparisons have been made) is more along the lines of his love for technology and his willingness to look at something that is declared impossible (whether from a technical standpoint or a practical standpoint - see Tesla car company working like no other car company) and just doing it.
Yeah I didn't mean to crap on everything he has done or anything, but I have looked at what he's done (or gets credited with) and I see things that have been done before. He just had a bit more financial resources to make things happen a bit bigger.

Keep thinking of the Wright Brothers; lot of these same sentiments said about their endeavors. They didn't hire other people to fly their prototype--and look where we are today. Just history repeating itself once again. And with a lot more money involved.

Except baldy didn't invent space travel. He's not even in the same league as the Wright Brothers. Just some dude with too much money to know what to do with, why not travel to space on the backs of the bruised?

Is the rocket going to be aimed at the sun?
Naah, the Andromeda galaxy.
Wondering how does that work...
Same way all the past megaconglomerates did, threaten to lay off thousands because they couldn't afford to pay them, while simultaneously blaming the government for the situation because of taxes/excessive regulation/lizard people/etc. It totally isn't at all related to the multi-million dollar bonuses the board members and shareholders are siphoning out of the back end that prevent them from being able to pay said employees.

History says otherwise. I'm not sure Bezos is that guy, but many very successful companies in the past, the owner would test the experimental equipment as a statement of faith in their engineers and designs. Howard Hughes comes to mind.
The pizza guy that invented Kevlar bullet proof vests did the same thing. He had a bunch of cops shoot him in the chest at the range.

If Jeff Bezos wears Amazon boxes as a suit then I'm all for it. Just wondering, but who gets his fortune if he dies?

The government and it will go to buy more yachts and gulfstreams for the super billionairs that already own everything. Nothing goes down, only sideways and up.

I see them as complete opposite entities on the planet. Bezos is a snake who hasn't invented a thing. Musk has brought positive benefit to planet and humanity. And he's hella fun.
pretty sure Bezos contributed greatly to ecommerce. Not to mention cloud services.

just responding the the Musk love. Musk didnt invent anything either. Neither did Jobs. They are all visionaries that get smart engineers (and venture capitalists) to follow them.
just responding to the musk hate...

not so much hate. I dont dislike Musk (outside of the fact he is a proto-bond villain, like bezos). He and Bezos (and Jobs) don't really "invent" anything. They just set a vision and have smart people following who execute.

Exactly. All 3 are a cult of personality thing.

Bye bye Bozos enjoy space, dont come back now ya hear

The world will function just fine without seeing your smiling face box logos litering our freeways, your drivers who blissfully chunk packages onto your porch ignoring the law of gravity. Alexa will miss you though, whos going to command her to record everything I say and keep it stored for life while creating a chain of free wifi hotspots that I have to pay for while freeloaders get free internet all without telling me you were being so generous with my internet account.

Space the final frontier, dont come back now ya hear
