China is 22 for men and 20 for women. That has nothing to do with the age of consent though and it seems you're conflating the two. Age of consent in China is a startling...14. It gets creepier than that but I won't get into it here. Not sure where I remember seeing it but there was a country or two that put the age of marriage at 19 and 20. So from their standpoint it could stand to reason that american men marrying 18 year old women, are pedophiles in that country's eyes.
Arguably, many of those who should be having more kids aren't and many of those who shouldn't...are.

Actually, if you want to bring normal human behavior into consideration...
In older times, it was perfectly normal human behavior for women to marry at 12 to 15yrs of age.
The catch was, the average peasant in that time only live to about 25~30 years of age, so they are marrying at half their life expectancy.
Royalty lived considerably longer, because better nutrition.
Now that life expectancy is longer, more or less, if we lived according to those same standards, women shouldn't even be touched by 30yrs of age, let alone marriage until 45.
Bonus points because the 35 year old man decided to make his hologram wife a 16 year old girl, managing to make it creepy for two reasons instead of just one.
so... exactly how does one copulate with a hologram?
edit: 16 year old? that guy needs help in more ways than one....
i guess noone read its a 16yr old animated girl.
the bigger issue is that this is a definate pedophile restraining himself from doing the actual deed by beating off to a hologram little girl.. much like, im sure alot of grown men who havent actually GROWN are doing these days with manga and anime porn.
i dont care what you say "hes not hurting anyone its none of my business etc etc", not until he actually does the action of raping a little girl in real life..
these are pedophiles that need reprogramming or wiped off this earth.
From my point of view: anyone defending this guy's actions of marrying and having a physical relationship with an underage girl hologram (and pillows) is a SJW.
The question now becomes: Will defenders of this guy come to realize that engaging in a relationship with children and/or physical objects is NOT normal human behavior, even down to a primal/instinctual level?
Umm... associating with non-human objects and giving it human characteristics is a very human thing. Yes, some people take it to the extreme, but it's no different from the base instincts/behavior that lead people to give their cars/boats names, treating it with love and care, etc.
Umm... Here's a distinctive difference between 1.) wanting to take care of a car/boat that has a tangible money value (and/or even personalizing it by giving it a name to differentiate it from everyone else's to show possessiveness/ownership) and 2.) entering into a marriage with a humanistic hologram of a child cartoon character (and pillows)...so there is a big difference.
What there isn't much of a difference in what this guy is doing: would be someone naming, assigning a childhood age to, and marrying their jackoff tube sock for purposes of both self-sexual gratification and trying to attain a meaningful and intellectual relationship with it, because their mental illness in causing skewed reality and convinced of this.

Didn't Japan have the worlds second largest GDP in the 80 and 90's? Now in 20 years all that will be left is a bunch of single elderly folk being taken care of by robotic anime pillows. I swear it will be like the Zoo's trying to get Pandas to mate...
I suspect you'd be tall. I'm only 5'11. Never the less, it's all the usual suspects - be kind, confident, and successful...and take her dancing.
That's a win.
People aren't social these days. Ironically, "social" media did a good job fucking that up for a generation. When I was young, we were busy chatting up the ladies. These days, you put a 20-year-old in a perfect setup and he doesn't even know how to make small talk.
The world changed. Shifted, I guess. I probably got the memo and discarded it.
You are getting way too hung up on the age thing. Also, being way too narrow-minded to think that sex is the only motivating factor behind it.
Also, see Wilson from Cast Away. People can and do personify objects on a far greater basis than you think.
You can't guarantee anything about motivations as you're not involved.Age of a MINOR = I'm getting way to hung up on the age thing. Hahahahaha! Yeah, OK.
I can almost 100% guarantee that sexualization of this cartoon character is the driving motivation here.
- Homologous body pillows to physically snuggle up to (amongst other things, no doubt).
- Vast amount of money spent for a holographic depiction.
- Marries aforementioned object(s), which automatically categorizes this as someone that has convinced themselves that, out of the vast number of fellow age-appropriate human beings around, they will attain a greater and more fulfilling human relationship with these sexualized underage cartoon character objects.
Cast Away was just a movie, but let's delve into that further: Chuck personifies a volleyball because he is completely stranded alone and suffering from delusions (even suicidal tendencies).
When Chuck is miraculously rescued and gets back to civilization amongst fellow human beings, he eventually meets back up with Kelly, whom is now married and gotten on with her life without him (perhaps not gotten over him), and sends him on his way.
Does Chuck run to the nearest sporting goods store to buy a volleyball with the intention of marrying it? No.
With still no volleyball companion in sight, he meets Bettina while stopped at an intersection trying to decide which way to go, she gives a sexy smile before driving away, he spots the familiar "angel wings" on the back of her truck...movie ends with him looking down the road she just drove away on (and where he just came from) with a glimmer of hope in his eyes...and it wasn't because there was a Scheels or Dick's that-a-way.
Is there anything else you would like me to apply my college level education in psychology and/or post-college training in child developmental psychology to?
You can't guarantee anything about motivations as you're not involved.
All your over-the-top outrage about a man and his relationship to a holograph seems....off.
I wonder if some would find it akin to the outspoken homophobe who secretly wants to suck a dick.
I'm not defending his behavior. The very reason why this guy made the news is because he is *not* exhibiting normal human behavior.
Your attempt to pin the fault on me is a nothing more than you defending his abnormal anthropomorphic obsessive compulsive disorder likely spurred by a nominal degree of reactive attachment disorder.
I'm not defending his behavior.
So how's your career in clinical psychology going for you?
You're "not" defending his behavior, but negating me "not" defending his behavior by implying that I'm an outspoken homophobe that secretly wants to chow rod? What the hell kind of shit is that? Seriously, now.
Higher education in both psychology and child developmental psychology are fields that I have years of study and experience in, as well as active participations and presentations in the following:
1. substance abuse counseling, mostly for parents whom have had their children taken away by CPS and are undergoing court ordered treatment plans so that they can be reunited with their children that I have fostered.
2. Foster and adoptive readiness symposiums, where REAL examples of childhood psychological and behavioral disorders (and the causation: adult psychological and behavioral disorders of the biological parents) are discussed with aspiring foster or adoptive parents so that they can be prepared for behavioral outbursts and become licensed...same as I had to do, so I could foster and adopt my children.
So, my "career" in psychology is primarily volunteer work, to benefit both adults and children in an escalated position of need, as required by the Department of Health and Human Services and Judiciary entities of the state that I reside in.
And I'm pretty sure that experience is clouding your judgement and causing your overreaction to this man's actions. You are getting very close to the line of thoughtcrime.
Yes, this man's actions are unusual. Are they illegal? Not in the least bit. Do they indicate something mentally unstable about him? Not necessarily, especially without any of the man's background or mental history. I would chalk this up along the same lines as those that would hold a book in front of them thinking it would stop a .45 caliber bullet. Doing something extreme for the attention. I would not chalk this up as a predilection to pedophilia, at least, not without further supporting evidence. And even if it was a predilection to pedophilia, intent and action are two very different things, and there are many that do not cross the line to action.
If this were a real girl we were talking about, it still wouldn't be pedophilia. The fact that it's not even a real person and there isn't any chance of sexual activity, it brings your comment to an entirely new level of derp.May be just a matter of time before his pedophiliac tendencies get the best of him and he decides underage girl cartoon character holograms and pillow friction burns just aren't satiating his mental illness any more...
No, Buttercup, whatever desires this man has, if they're sexual and involve a partner, they cannot be acted out in this case. It's a hologram. Either way, let's pretend he could engage in sexual activity with this hologram for a moment....It's still not pedohilia, it's within the age of consent in his country, and it's STILL NOT A PERSON.Mass shooters suffer from some sort of mental illness, same as pedophiles...whether they are inflicting their damaging desires upon cartoon characters or other human beings.
I'm not sure a hologram could be considered a physical object. That is besides the point though. You attribute a lot of things to this man, of which you know zilch. A hologram ≠ an effigy. Another word with a rather simple definition you fail to properly grasp. Also, you're essentially saying that what people do to video game characters is what they would do to real people. I won't bother going into all the ways that is an absurdly ignorant position to take. So, we're all supposed to rally for social justice towards anyone wanting to enter into marriage with PHYSICAL OBJECTS by saying "Oh, it's normal for this particular person. Pay no attention to it"? Especially those that wish to marry (and do other things with) effigies of children? C'mon, now...
16 is within the age of consent in Japan and quite a few other countries as well. It's also the age of consent in a great number of US States. So explain how (assuming it's a real person) consensual sex with a person of legal age would be....The question now becomes: Will defenders of this guy come to realize that engaging in a relationship with children and/or physical objects is NOT normal human behavior, even down to a primal/instinctual level?
NOT normal human behavior, even down to a primal/instinctual level
Quoting this one just because a collection of your ignorance in this thread wouldn't be complete without it. There is no physical relationship...it's a fucking hologram. If she were a real person, she would not be underage. What any of that has to do with being an SJW is totally beyond my comprehension. From my point of view: anyone defending this guy's actions of marrying and having a physical relationship with an underage girl hologram (and pillows) is a SJW.
35 year old Akihiko Kondo is now the proud husband of "Miku", who is "an animated 16-year-old with saucer eyes and lengthy aquamarine pigtails." In addition to a holographic representation generated by a "$2800 desktop device," Mr. Kondo appears to have a plushie and a body pillow that stand in as avatars for his new wife. The marriage doesn't have any legal standing in Japan, but that didn't stop him from spending $17,600 on a formal wedding ceremony, buying a ring, or calling her when he comes home.
"Miku-san is the woman I love a lot and also the one who saved me," he said. And while Kondo says he is happy to be friends with a "3D woman", he has no interest in romance with one, no matter how much his mother pushes for it. Two-dimensional characters can't cheat, age or die, he points out.
I generally loath tv shows but Archer is the shit!
You claim to have received higher education is psychology. I see no evidence of that. Pedophilia has a rather simple and easy to comprehend definition yet you use the term inaccurately over and over.
If this were a real girl we were talking about, it still wouldn't be pedophilia. The fact that it's not even a real person and there isn't any chance of sexual activity, it brings your comment to an entirely new level of derp.

A woman's personality is never set in stone. That means their personality will change and who they are now isn't set in stone
No, effigy does not mean a simple likeness or a picture. If I said I had an effigy of my children on my mantle, not a single English speaking person (besides you apparently) would think I meant a picture. Give me a break.I literally posted a synopsis of my college education in psychology and ongoing post-college training and experience in childhood development psychology, and you see no evidence...are you being serious? I'm not going to throw out my personally identifiable information on the internet by posting my college transcripts, foster care license, and drug counseling/child therapy/foster and adoptive readiness/courtroom attendance docs to appease you. Even if I wanted to, I can't, because that's a violation of my state's laws for protecting the identities of the foster children I have been involved with.
Effigy also means a picture or likeness, so my use there was completely within the definitive range of the word.
You are right: the age of this child cartoon character is within the age of consent in his country, so I will have to change the stance I previously took.
I still question his motives for choosing to enter into a relationship with a cartoon character - particularly a young school-girl looking cartoon character, then him putting forth real effort of collecting body pillows (the physical contact medium) and a hologram (the animated effigy) of, then (and here's the clear indicator of mental illness) becoming so attached and obsessed with them that he proclaims marriage to them.
You can analyze and pick apart my statements as much as you want in an attempt to distract from the fact that you are defending this guy's seriously abnormal behavior (the tune is: "hey everyone, this cartoon character is of legal age where he lives, so his behavior should be considered perfectly normal and acceptable!").
Doesn't change my viewpoint based on my education, experience, and beliefs/opinions. Just as I'm not going to change your viewpoint based on your education, experience, and beliefs/opinions.
Good day to you, and I'm looking forward to engaging in conversations about other topics in other threads with you.

You can post a synopsis of your 'education' all you want. You repeatedly used the term pedophile incorrectly and that is a more telling indicator of your education than anything else.
You can question his motives all you want. What you did earlier was different, you assigned motive among other things.
Nowhere in this thread have I defended what he is doing. I've never stated my opinion. Just because I laugh hysterically at you for your repeated fallacies, repeated misuse of basic psycholgy terms, and your general level of derpiness....that does not make me a defender of hologram dude.
While I understand that some simple folks are only capable of seeing the world as containing people who either agree with them or agree with the diametrically opposing viewpoint, there are other options.
A commonality. To wit: all three would not be happy being called an animal.A woman's personality is never set in stone.
The woman you dated, the same woman after marriage, and the same woman after having children are three entirely different animals regardless of age.
A commonality. To wit: all three would not be happy being called an animal.
Your 'education' continues to shine through quite clearly. I almost respect your persistence though. You just keep coming back for more. Much like herpes, I imagine.More dumb stuff

Go type TURNIP into an online thesaurus of your own choosing and see what you get.
You'll get a list of many things....that are not turnips.

So calling a guy a pedo over and over is OK even though it's completely inaccurate and unwarranted but me pointing and laughing at you for repeatedly using words inaccurately is trolling.More targeted personal attacks towards me, and going completely off-topic to do so.
What, pray-tell, are you trying to accomplish by insulting other forum members, if you supposedly aren't defending this guy's abnormal behavior of marrying an effigy of a cartoon character (body pillows and a hologram)?
You stated you haven't posted an opinion about his behavior, but you sure are putting forth great effort to post your insultive opinions about other posters. Simply put = trolling.
I think this is a publicity stunt to promote the hologram ai.
