Japanese Hologram Rocks Sold Out Concert

I don't think I will ever get the "wapanese" craze.

Move there and quit spamming anime to everyone, please. We get it..... you don't fit into this diverse culture and want to be Japanese and "different".......

No hate, its just kind of pathetically sad how involved anime is in some of you peoples' lives.

Some guy in Japan actually went through a fake wedding to his beloved anime character. Saw it on youtube about a year ago.

Ya. I've gone to 6 Momusu concerts and 4 Berryz Koubou concerts. Contemplating on going in Dec for a Momusu graduation concert.

Wow, I take it your in Japan then? The closest I can get is asking some relatives to buy albums for me. I have 2 of Sphere's singles right now.

Admittedly she does sound heartless and soulless sometimes, that's why the company that created her now offers other versions of Miku besides the "original" used here.

Nope, I'm currently in Maryland. The times when I went to concerts in Japan, I was living in Germany and also in S.Korea. I never actually went to any concerts when I was living in Japan. I was too busy racing in the mountains near Okutama, going to clubs, or doing whatever else I was doing.

I give credit for the technology....but....That is beyond pathetic....paying to see a holographic pop star is ridiculous. I bet they all go home and jerk off to her too.

Holographic pop star, real life pop star. What's the difference? Can't get with either of them.

You what to know what's more pathetic than this? American TV and the fact that all of it still has high ratings. I can't believe a channel like MTV hasn't been simply been wiped from existance yet, but hey. It's still around.

I'd much rather go to one of these concerts than be stuck watching any kind of American reality shows.

This.

So does Lady Gaga and Britney Spears. :)

Why do people keep on mentioning these people here? Miku isn't a lesbian like Justin Bieber, she isn't Alanis Morrisette gone insane like Lady Gaga, and she's not just batsh*t stupid like Britney Spears. She's simply voice files, no more no less. And that already makes her a lot better.

"Gee how impressive", followed by the endless stream of tecnobabble about simulated voice and 3d Imaging thread,
Blah Blah Blah....

It all comes down to one thing.

The Japanese will pay ridculous sums of money to stare at shiny objects....even fake ones....

Everyone will. Everyone has a certain item, thing, etc that they will spend a ridiculous sum of money on, while others will think they are crazy.

Ppl think gamers are crazy, cause they'll spend $500 bucks on just a video card or $60 on a video game. Ppl think sports fans are crazy, cause they'll spend thousands a year on season tickets to some specific sports team. Just about every hobby out there will lead to having to pay ridiculous sums of money.

These guys just happen to spend 7000 yen (average cost of a concert in Japan, so just making a guess) to watch a hologram sing songs. How many ppl do you think dropped that much to take the family out to watch 3D animation projected against a screen? (Toy Story 3 anyone?)

Yep, exactly my point. What a bunch of losers :D

There is no damn way you can justify or compare anything to this, wow Toy Story 3? That actually has a story and set of characters. This, you are paying to see the same computer made animation with false, man-made talents... not a rare popular voice from a unique human being. Basically, I could pay to see a person again and again since it will never be the same pretty much. With this thing you get one view and the next 10 times you watch it will be EXACTLY the same

Basically, I would feel ripped off if I paid.... you might be infatuated for some reason but realistically you are being entertained by one guy that does computer graphics and anime porn videos.

Pretty interesting Tech; I personally would not pay to go see it in concert but to each his own.

Also this does seem to be the next logical step given the amount of "American" pop stars that either lip sink or use Autotune®. The only difference is one is made up hologram, and the others are made up/hyped up "singers". You are paying to go see a bullshit show either way.
