I've never seen this - Part 2 - Not a Motherboard issue.

I hadn't, but I mean, there are no other issues? Ping tests are fine, all my other network based software works?
Still might be something whack, and the case is the only thing you ~haven't~ eliminated

Last time I ran into this, it was literally something equally strange that we couldn't track down - it would be fine, then not fine, then fine, and so on. It was eventually the chassis - literally the metal box (hell, we replaced the LCD panel on the front of the damned server - twice - before giving in).

Did you do the ping test to see if it's dropping packets?

Many times the problem is easy to fix, you just have to find it. :)

Yeah, I wanted to see if it was network in general, but there were never any lost packets.

Ha! Thats actually very true, 5 min fix for 4 weeks of troubleshooting :)

It could still be losing packets or network connectivity problem even if the network is fine.

Does it have a Sonicwall VPN client installed?

.

Nope, no VPN's, tried after a fresh format with no other software install, still had the issue.

We have mixed AMD and Intel (probably 8 to 1 AMD) but no, no other issues for any machine in the office.
