I have some strange stability problems while running Prime95. Sometimes it will error out in a 1 hour. Other times at 8 hours. It's all over the place.

I thought it might be a PSU voltage problem and after checking I am not sure that it is. I get (under load) 3.40 - 3.3+, 5.06 - 5.00+, 12.01 at the ATX and 11.97 at the P4. All voltages taken with a Multimeter. Could my problem be a wattage issue?

My system has the following items:

Epox 4PCA3+
Intel 2.4C
4 - 20G Western Digital
1 - CD-RW
ATI Radeon 9600XT
7 - various sized fans.

All this hooked up to a Enermax EG301P-VB ATX 300W Power Supply. It's a 300w PSU.

What do you guys think?

4 hard drives and 7 fans hooked up to a 300W... not cool. I'd definatly say thats your problem.

Amen.

Get yourself a decent 480W powersupply. Running all those HDDs and the 9600XT and 7 (!) fans on that 300w PS is not cool at all. Also, getting a better powersupply will allow you to upgrade your components and leave room for more goodies in that case of yours.

look into the antec trublue or trupower 480 watt psu if you are on a budget, and the pcpower and cooling 510 deluxe if you are not.
