So then humans will become self aware cancers. Perhaps this is the net step in human evolution? Maybe we will attach to various animals, and they will become talking animals.

So, then (if you've ever played Star Control 2) we will eventually look like the Umgah, and behave like the Dnyarri. :D (immediately sprang to mind after reading your post for some reason)
