LOL articles like this are so short sighted. There are a number of ways to address the disease of aging - and yes we should be treating it like a disease. These range from gene therapy which is achievable relatively quickly to a full clone and consciousness transfer which may take a few more years if people can past their squeamishness.

So then humans will become self aware cancers. Perhaps this is the net step in human evolution? Maybe we will attach to various animals, and they will become talking animals.

So, then (if you've ever played Star Control 2) we will eventually look like the Umgah, and behave like the Dnyarri. :D (immediately sprang to mind after reading your post for some reason)
