It's been many years since I've built a new PC and just wanted some feedback on how I did.

This is everything I got for the build.

Hard to give feedback without knowing the goal trying to be accomplished, the market is competitive enough that every option tend to be good and well priced for what they are and the competition.

Do you need that much of a motherboard (it will never see a cpu upgrade), need 20 threads, 7200 mhz ram ? Seeing the GPU, maybe.

I would upgrade the PSU 1200w minimum. Both the 14700k and 4090 are quit power hungry
You will need 12VHPWR for that GPU which can deliver up to 600 watts of power to the GPU alone.
I'd recommend the Corsair HX1200i
The GT is simply not compatible from what I can see at 1st glance.
If you plan to Overclock you may want to consider a beefier VRM motherboard too and most definitely better cooling.

That GPU come with the needed adapter for older PSU.

Has for 1000watt not being enough, could depend what you do, a 14700k when playing game is not crazy power hungry for an example (and in case it could be like pre-launching game shader compile, gpu will me mild usage)

I am really no expert here, so people be free to correct me, but a lot of high PSU for GPU-intel cpu combo talk come from the power spike Ampere had I think, at least if it is a PC to play games, under 600 watt usage for the total system must be common for the op PC. A 14700k will be under 140watt and it is rare to push a 4090 over 475 watt without some tricks, even for the fancy OC skus.

I'd suggest a high quality ATX 3.0/3.1 compliant PSU. Particularly with your 4090. If you need help finding reviews check out hardwarebusters or you can find a solid choice via the cultists network.
GL!

That gt is decent but not something I would pair with a high end rig going forward.

The Dell of the world sales 14900KF + 4090 system with 1,000 watt PSU, 850 watt is probably the minimum for a 14700k-4090, 1000 you started to enter I wanted to have a nice amount of room territory.

You can run furmark at the same time than a 100% cpu load (primetest say) to see if there is any issue, but depending on what you usually do that could be a much higher load that you would ever do yourself, organically.

From my understanding it is not any risk (house fire or anything), it is at worst system crash situation.

So I ordered this 1200 Watt EVGA Platinum PSU instead and will return the other one. Should be better than my 1000w Gold. I've never purchased a "platinum" PSU before.

So should I be sending the PSU back? Sounds like it from your comments, but I haven't run into any issues yet.
If you already have it, roll with it. I was under the impression you were buying, not bought :(
