It takes SO long for iTunes to recognize my iPod

I just reformatted and installed iTunes 7 as my music player. When I plug my iPod video into the computer it takes FOREVER for iTunes to finally bring it up. Like at least 2-3 minutes. It's not cool at all. How can I fix this?

Anyone? This is a really annoying problem as people like to swap out iPods at this house.

I think that's about how long it takes for mine to come up.

How big is the ipod? What generation?

Do you have it set for disk mode?

Format? (I guess the PC or mac Q could answer this as well)

Have you tried restoring it?

It's a 30GB iPod video. What do you mean "disk mode"? How do I find that out?

That's how long any pc formatted ipod takes to be recognized on my mac. I couldn't tell you why, though.

Next time you plug it in, in the ipod device selection, turn on disk mode and "open itunes upon connect"
