Issue with Sapphire 7970 in BF3 and CoD4

I got it yesterday night. Installed the latest drivers for it and figured it would whoop my 5870. In BF3 on Medium with textures high and a few other tid bits on it was pushing around 30-80fps at 1920x1080. With the 7970 however all on high, same settings elsewhere it's doing 28-55. Annoying to say the least.

Then I loaded CoD4 (I know I know, old game, right? Just wait for it)... I went from getting 200-300fps in cod4 with the 5870, all settings maxed and now I get between 20 and 70 in game. It usually averages to 30 until I hit any smoke, then the card just bogs to hell (especially in bog). I mean, come on... a dx9 game from 07 is putting this card on its knees it seems. I only have CoD4 because I help admin 4 servers on it and I enjoy the custom maps.

Anyone else have any issues? MW3 does decent, but it is by no means better or worse then the 5870 (Which I expected as I noticed no difference from a 4870x2 to the 5870 except for shinier textures, which i knew was how that would go).

Not sure. I loaded up BF3 for the first time tonight since getting my Sapphire 7970, and it ran like a champ, usually ~60fps w/ occasional dips @1920x1080 maxed

What driver did you use?

Did you uninstall your previous drivers?
 
I Just did a quick COD4 game and got 250-500 fps at 1024x768 with 8x adaptive AA.
Can't test your resolution since none of my monitors go that high.
