Is the Windows 8 refresh and reset - a good option for restoring the system?. I usually do not rely on Windows System Restore- had some experiences. Is it still the same with Windows 8?. Are there any more options for instant restore solutions?. Thank you.

used the refresh once, kept all the "apps" and user files but had to reinstall every other software i had installed. Windows worked as good if i had reinstalled it but then i had to reinstall every thing which i m guessing takes longer than restoring a good image ? but was faster than reinstalling and installing every programs. All that to say it'll work as intended if u don t have an image.

It'll put an old folder on the desktop and a txt file of programs that weren't installed.

Don't use it. It will get rid of everything you installed, except for ModernUI/Metro apps.

A much better option is to take an image backup/restore with RecImg.
