Is there any concequences for not setting Memory and HTT 1:1?

hrm... at another forum (which will remain nameless...) everyone said that there will be a peformance decrease when it's not 1:1

search google for articles on memory timings or memory clock comparisons. The difference is very very tiny (unless your dividing down to something rediculous) A64s have never been memory starved. Remember when s754 -> s939 change to duel channel memory only provided max %5 more often little to no increase in performance. This change is smaller than that

PM (cf)Eclipse and see if he'll link you to his thread where he did a lot of tests on memory dividers and provided lots of data. That's what you really want to see right? Or search for it yourself ;). I think it was entitled something about Eclipse and Baron speak the truth about memory or something like that.

I didn't believe the 1:1 ram thing when I first got my A64, coming from an xp cpu.....boy was I wrong. I also spent the better part of 2 full days testing ram at different speeds.....real world performance between ram at 200 and 235mhz is pretty much zero.

Running a divider suppossedly does no harm on the A64. However, I DID notice a difference between 200mhz and 227mhz real world (in that 227mhz was smoother, not faster, but smoother). . .

All in all, you shouldn't get lower performance if you don't run 1:1

also, i have proof that the divider itself means nothing ;)
