IS my 3dmark06 too low?

My 3dmark score seems pretty low for the system I have.
I got 11800 after overclocking. Does that seem too low for the system I have? I can't seem to hit 12k. I would like to get 13k.

Post the individual score for each test. So far it just seems like your CPU is lowering the overall score.

I get around 8000 with my 8800gt,somethings wrong here, probably my cpu or my mobo but I don't want to overclock. Is this score too low?

Core 2 Duo E6300 1.8gig
8800gt
2gigs
Intel board

It's going to be hard for you to hit 13k with that system but you should be able to get 12k+ comfortably.

I managed to break 13k on my dual core, E6750 at 3.4GHz and my 8800GT clocked at 774/1800/2050. I don't think the video card is 100% stable at that either and I don't run it that high normally. It was nice breaking 13k on a single card dual core on all stock cooling though!

Assuming you're running your CPU at its stock speed, the score seems about right. If you overclock the CPU, the score should go up a bit, to maybe the 9000 ballpark.

Dumb questions, but I run dual displays. Would having the second monitor on during the test affect my score a whole lot?

I dont think a 8800 GT can hit 13000+. I could be wrong, but I just find it doubtful. I would like to see a link as proof for any who claim to have made it there.

I have a core 2 duo @ 3.5 ghz
2 GB of DDR2 @ 900 mhz 4-4-4-12 timings
8800 GTX @ 660/1700/2100

and I barely broke the 13,000 mark. See below:

I managed a 12918 3dmark 06 score today for the first time.

8800GTS 640mb 620/1035 stock cooling (stock on this card is 575/850)
Q6600@3375mhz (9x375), Thermalright U120 extreme

Just started playing with the OCing. I'm not 100% sure the card is stable, but it's very close ATM.

On my 8800GT and E6750 at 3.4GHz.

Nice! you have proved my theory wrong. I guess thats a massively overclocked GT? Stock cooling? I think I need to rerun the test, cause then my #'s arnt right.

It was at 774/1782/1025, stock cooling all the way around.

Obviously I don't run it that way 24/7, just for benching.. at least until I find a good aftermarket air cooler made for it.

My mate can get quite easily into the 12k mark with his E6550 overclocked to 3.2Ghz, stock XFX 8800GT.

But really 3Dmark doesn't mean anything, how does Crysis run is the real question right?

Nice overclock, what is the default clock for the shaders on that card?

I know my core gives out at about 660, I can go up to 670, but I get weird things on the screen. If I keep the core at 660, I can keep overclocking the shaders up over 1700. I think I need some aftermarket cooling too, I have the stock GTX cooler.

I can break 13k on a single 8800GTS 320, all air-cool. A GT should be no problem

To the OP though, the score is about right. The CPU is your bottleneck, but it's not a big enough one to worry about. Are you running Vista? Vista scores are generally lower than XP score. You can't really compare the two.

Yea, I have vista.

I had a 640 GTS and I was stuck in the 11,000's. The GTX put me in the 13,000's. I guess I need a quad core, maybe when the Q6600 drops under 200, ill pick one up.

An OC'd quad can hit close to 6k in 3D Mark, plus give you a little boost on the SM scores. An OC'd dual core will hit around 3k CPU score. That's an automatic 1000+ boost for the quad based system if all other things are equal.

If you want even higher scores, bench it in XP. I got my 13k in Vista 64. ;)

i hit 13035 with a e6300 at 3.3 and 8800gt at 735/1050 (just through ntune). its running at 44C so i'd like to get some voltage control and see what I can really hit on the overclock. (on water)

What the hell? What are your CPU overclock settings?

What the hell? What are your CPU overclock settings?

Running at 474 FSB x 7 on a gigabyte DS3. Voltage slightly above stock at 1.375 (versus 1.325 stock according to gigabyte bios/0, idles at 42C, 53C under load. It's a little hot and i've been working to try and lower that voltage, but I'm not having much luck so far

-- and by that I meant the 8800GT, not the CPU. for the CPU/FSB?Memory I've of course altered the voltages.

With the clocks in my sig in Vista64 I hit 12.5k in 3DMark06...can still push the CPU a bit and the 8800GT is more or less stock.

Those seem alarmingly low, you should be in 14-16k range at least! Is Vista64 that much of a performance hit in 3dmark06? *(I'm going off what your score in XP would be)

I have seen 8800GT SLI hit 15k on an Ocied q6600, which sucks IMO. I can get high 14k on a GTX and [email protected]

that's the best run i managed with my e4300 and 8800gts 320mb, winxp, unsigned drivers.

i'm definitely looking to hit 12k when my 8800gt arrives here today (on vehicle for delivery :D)

somehow i doubt i'll be gettin there without droppin some more cash :p

in my opinion, if you own an 8800 of any flavour and aren't hitting 8000 total, at least, there's something wrong with your system.

so i just rocked out a 11662 with my stock 8800GT... horray for step-up giving me a superclocked edition stock clocked @ 648/1625/950.

time to find my limit :D

that's an awesome overclock there... and part of the reason why i didn't make my own thread about my 720/1728/1053 OC.

i'm going by a 15 minute fuzzy stable standard though, heh.. i'd call my card 94% efficient at these speeds, no problems with any game i've thrown at it yet or 3dmark06. it's not 100% stable tho, so remove 6% of my potential credit for the clock.

this is my limit with stock equipment and it'll do. 70% fan. if it survives an overnight 3dmark loop then A1, i'm only clocking it this high for crysis, anyways. it's just fine at a more relaxed setting for most everything else.
