When BTC hit 20k in the last rush I jumped in with Nicehash and made a couple hundred or so. I had a GTX 1060, a W3680 both in my gaming rig and a dedicated cheapo mining rig with 2 R7 280x IIRC. I got about $5-6/ day until the price crashed, and the R7 280X were hard to keep running right

Now I see that Nicehash could generate ~$3.50 per day with my 1070 and R5 3600 while I'm at work. Is it really worth flipping the switch back on?

NH is giving me about $5 per day on my 1080ti. I keep my desktop on all the time to use for short periods of time. With NH running in the background there is no noticeable performance loss. It's not much, but it does pay for the power and add a little BTC to the wallet.
I had the idea of buying a dedicated ASIC...but for the same amount one could simply buy BTC and have a larger return on investment in a year.

I just started back up yesterday with two GTX 1080's. Currently netting about $7.75 a day.

A single 1070 isn't exactly a warehouse with 2500 GPU's. Your electric bill might be $15-20 higher. If that's too scary then don't do it.

i just started myself on my old 1070 in my wifes machine with 3600, I put it at 75% power and getting about 3$/day still. electric is up avg 3kwh/day, not worth the extra electric cost mining on the 3600 imo
