the 5870's cooler isn't exactly anything new in concept, look at the GeForce FX 5800 Ultra and 5950 Ultra coolers, or the GeForce 4 Ti OTES (Abit only), same rough idea, basically having a front intake will help because the card has an access to cooler air at its intake, thats never a bad thing
^ThisA side fan mounted near the expansion slot backplate or below the expansion slots (blowing up) does more to eliminate the dead spot (for air circulation) in that location than to cool the now fully-covered videocard.

Yes. My question is that if the cards intake from the FRONT, is there and point to a case with a fan blowing in on the SIDE.
Where is the "FRONT" at?
Are you considering going CF Jumpem? The heat won't be as much a problem with a single card.
Towards the front of the case. The end of the 5870 where the two red vents are.
...draw air from the front?
Like the 5870. It is covered in a plastic shield and draws air from the vents pointed toward the front fan.
This thing runs cooler then my 4870 did....impressive
