Is A64 3000+ stock fan good for A64 X2 4200+?

[sorry for re-posting the same message, just thought this title might be more appropriate for my question]

Hi,

I currently have an Athlon 64 3000+ (socket 939) with stock fan. I plan on buying an X2 4200+ OEM, so without a heatsink/fan.
My questions is - will I be able to use the old heatsink/fan from my 3000+ with the x2 4200+?
Could someone with the 4200+ stock fan post its speed? I believe the fan included with the 3000+ tops at around 3200RPM so I'm guessing if the one for 4200+ is the same, I should be fine?

I guess I should add that I currently run the 3000+ at 2.4ghz and plan to bring the 4200+ to 2.6 (at least). It'd be cool if I could stay with my current heatsink/fan.

Thanks

Nope.. I wouldn't even try it... going to dual core and a higher speed is gonna be way to much for that 3000+ heatsink.. much less the fan.

The X2s (boxed) come with a 4-heatpipe thin fin heatsink... the regular aluminum heatsink that came with the 3000+ is not gonna be able to handle it.

No, only stronger X2s come with the heatpipe cooler. The cheaper models come with the same stock cooler as the single core ones do.

@OP: The X2 4200+ will work with the stock cooler at default speeds. Wouldn't expect to overclock it much with it, though.
