Is a wireless access point the best way to add Ipad to existing wired home network?

I have several pcs wired into our dsl network at home through a non-wireless router. Am I correct in assuming that I could simply plug a wireless access point into the current router (D-Link Gamer Lounge) in order to provide the Ipad with internet connectivity?

This is the first Apple product I've ever had to deal with. Surely they behave with most routers?

If so, I don't suppose anyone would be willing to recommend a product at Newegg?

Thank you, and sorry if this is the dumbest question ever. I know nothing about wireless or Apple products...

Yep, that's it.
For a WAP I can't recommend much other than the Unifi by Ubiquiti - http://www.ubnt.com/unifi

Or you could replace your Router with something that has wireless - I assume you have the non-wireless DGL-4100 right now?

Yep, non-wireless.

Thank you sir! Really appreciate the help :) I was afraid I'd buy the wrong thing.

Really any wireless router will work. If you buy a wireless router, just turn off DHCP and plug it in via one of the LAN ports to your existing network (not the WAN port).

EDIT: One other quick note, you also will want to set the wireless router's IP to be within your subnet, but not the same as your main router.

For example, if your main router is 192.168.1.1, set the wireless router to 192.168.1.2.
