Is this by HDMI 2.0 or display port? What gfx should I get in order to drive 3 of these displays?

When will it be released in US of A?

The Samsung U28D590D and the ASUS PB287Q both support 4k 60 Hz over SST in Windows.

Both are TN, OP is looking for IPS.

There are a few AH-IPS/AHVA/PLS 4k displays coming out in the next 1-4 months but nothing out at this moment.

Nothing on the Eizo that I've seen yet, but a "review" at TechRadar says the Samsung one (The UD970) will be available by the end of this month for $2000.

It's sparse on any technical details about the screen, but if Samsung's is coming soon, perhaps Eizo's is as well.

I'm wondering if the 32" 4k displays are going to take the place of the 30" 2560x1600 displays as the "high end" PC displays, and we'll see more 27" 1440p screens for everyone else who doesn't want to spend 7 months of car payments on a monitor.

32" 4k will be high end for a long time IMO. 30" 2560x1600 flagship monitors have been around since 2004 so its been 10 years of $1k+ for that resolution. 4k flagships started at $3500, just like the 30" apple debuted at $3299 in 2004. So I would say by ~2016 prices might plateau at $1k range and sit there till 8k rolls out in 8-9 years.

I would say it's a bit different with 4K. TV manufactures are starting to replace their entire lineups with 4K models at the mid and high end now. I expect this to trickle down to the low end in the next few years, at which point you won't even be able to buy a 1080p TV most likely. This should mean way cheaper 4K monitors, as production costs go down with more volume.

1440p and 1600p, by contrast, has been a niche market so production costs were likely higher.

You will probably see higher res panels like the 5K resolution Dell command a significant premium for some time to come however.

When choosing, I would double check if those 60Hz@4K can be used in SST or in MST only. And yes, i'll still claim that 32" is too small for comfortable 4K use, so i wouldn't like any of these listed.

Get either a FW900 or PG278Q. All 4K monitors suck. They have severe motion blur and are stuck to 60Hz, which is unusable for gaming, unless you get used to playing a slideshow.

I don't know that I've ever heard anyone refer to 60Hz as a slideshow before. Although gaming at 4k would probably be a slideshow on current GPUs.

I have 2 FW900 which are still in my garage it does not work for my type of usage which are Lightroom, Photoshop, Turnbase gaming & Internet browsing. I just got ASUS PB287Q from amazon as a temporary monitor and desire to wait until NEC or Eizo release 4k LCD.

My old panel was triple LCD2490 which served me for almost 7 years.

I don't play fast moving game, the game i currently play is FM2014, Civ V and tropico 5 so 60Hz is fine for me. 30Hz is just to low for dekstop use.

btw ASUS PB287Q is at 160 PPI which at 100% scaling works perfect for me. So i think for 4k I prefer 28 - 32 inches.

What works some some doesn't work for others. Also, come on man no one wants a crt anymore.
