ipod without itunes

I'm trying to transfer music to my ipod without itunes, does anyone know of a application that lets you drop and drag music to ipod without itunes. Has to be free also.

Not really "drag and drop" but mediamonkey will sync an ipod no problem and at least on windows runs 1000000000x smoother then itunes ever did.

I encountered a simliar type of problem when I had my ipod and didn't want to use Itunes but needed to get all the songs off my ipod as I had accidentally deleted my music folder with all my ripped songs in it off my computer with no backup.

I found a program called iDump which will extract all music FROM an ipod and put it on your computer if you need to do that for any reason.

Can I use Media Monkey to purchase tracks from iTunes?
Or do I need to use iTunes to purchase then send them over to MM?

SharePod is also really good. Both are portable so can be carried around on the iPod if necessary.

Media monkey will sync with pretty much anything including the touch. Pretty sure you'll need itunes to buy music from itunes but once the song is in your library media monkey will pick it right up.

You can also use Double Twist to synch music, pictures and video on your devices such as iPods, Blackberry`s and Zunes...
