iPod will not be recognized by Windows when in the cradle

Yet it is recognized when I plug the cable directly into the iPod. Anyway to alleviate it? When I have it plugged into the dock, it only charges and is not recognized at all by my computer.

I think that the dock is just a direct pass through from the cable to the iPod, so if it's acting like that the dock may be defective.

Try it in another dock if you can.

and if it doesn't work call in for support on it as the dock could be bad...if you are still in your first year I would suggest you get the AppleCare on it as you won't have any phone support or mail in issues and will give you an additional year of support on the ipod
