When I plug my iPod in to update it, it starts fine and updates fine. However, when it finishes updating, it continues to say "Do Not Disconnect". iTunes however says "iPod update complete. OK to disconnect". So, I have to eject the iPod before I can disconnect it. However, this often causes an error on the iPod drive and asks me to run the Check Disk utility to fix the problem. This usually happens after everytime I plug it into the computer. Any ideas how to fix this problem or even what causes it?

make sure it isnt enabled for disk use... cuz if it is.. no matter what iTunes says it needs to be ejected...

I have completely reset the thing 6-8 times, and it still refuses to work the way I want. I imagine I could try again, but putting 1500 songs on takes a while that I don't have to waste.

as far as i understand you have to ejects it if your not using the auto update thing? thats what i understatnd anyways
